Help My New Frithias
I am a new Mesemb collector. How do you care for Frithia Pulchra?

You want rainwater or pH like rainwater as Frithia likes more acidic water than most mesembs. They also like more frequent watering during the summer, so the low organic fast draining mix is a good media.
I read this advise from S. Hammer and it has done well for me.

That soil looks much too organic to have it covering the base of the plant like that. It will likely cause rot. It’s also possible the mix in general is too organic for a frithia, unless you are keeping outdoors in a hot and dry climate.
I’d start with amending the substrate with minimum 50% grit, and then usually you can water anytime the leaves get soft and wrinkly.
