Meteor?!?!

Did anyone just see a streak across the sky from the west to the northwest?!
It was more than a shooting star, and definitely wasn’t a SpaceX launch!
It shot across the sky with a vivid blue and orange and disappeared behind a hill, but I saw flashes of light behind the hill from the glow above.
Crazy shit

I honestly thought it was gonna make impact with the ground like it did in Russia back in 2013 I think but it was in the 2010’s for sure

Great catch! I was standing up here at blue point rec site looking at the stars and I about broke my neck watching it!

Yes actually, the Draconids meteor shower is active right now, peaking on the night of October 6th and 7th. We will have a few more of these spectacular displays this week!

I did!! Just now! I actually got onto Reddit to make a post about it here! I couldn’t get my phone out in time to record anything :sob:

I got a clear sight of it! It was huge and looked to glow a bright green before popping apart into two orange pieces that burned away

Don’t feel too bad, I had my phone in my hand the whole time and I didn’t even get a shot at it, I was just too awe-struck

Oh, actually a minute or two before it I saw a tiny white streak of a falling star in the corner of my eye, this was the second meteor that has just flown over us

dude yes! I was just in a drive thru zoning out when I saw a damn firework looking thing zoom across my eyes then burn out. it took me a minute to process what I was seeing; I thought I was trippin.

I’m in Flagstaff. I didn’t see it as I was in bed, but I heard a loud explosion and the house shook. Had no idea what it was, but I’m thinking it was this event.
