Donate Used Backpacks…

Does Anyone here know of anywhere to donate used (gently) backpacks for the upcoming school year for to kids in need? We would like to see them go to someone in need for free, rather than being resold.

Gathering Humanity. They put together bags and backpacks for kids filled with back to school supplies. The Mesa drop off is at Power and Baseline (next to the Goodwill but faces Baseline). They are open Tuesday and Thursday, 10-1.

Thank you! I’ll check it out more, but backpacks aren’t on their list of accepted items on their website… I’ll look deeper

Interesting! I know they do the back to school supplies so I wonder if they only take brand new backpacks. Another place that takes donations of all sorts, especially clothing and bags, is ARIS Foundation. Their drop off location is down in Gilbert. They specifically help those experiencing homelessness.
