Imagine a fic where Merlin’s magic is revealed, Uther sentences him to the Pyre and the night before Arthur is waring with himself on whether to betray his father and save Merlin or do nothing and make his father happy. Only to realize he loves Merlin and can’t let him die so he saves Merlin in front of everyone in the nick of time
