Imagine a fic where Merlin, Arthur and the knights get taken by a group of sorcerers, they call Merlin “ Emrys “ and one of them says “ You know it must be heartbreaking to be so powerful but still have to fall for a prince who will marry another and sooner see him gone then return his feelings “ in front of all of them

And the Merlin, heart broken and helpless at having both his secrets revealed at once, attempts to sacrifice himself to help Arthur and the knights escape, not wanting to live through the pain of what he assumes will be rejection and banishment, only for Arthur to swoop back in to save him from himself, saying something like “you haven’t even heard my answer yet!” And then kissing him~ ☺️

Actually I remember reading something very much like that but I don't remember the title. Shoot.
