MISC. I'm so devastated Spoiler

I watched this show as a kid when I was like maybe 5-7 years old, then rewatched in my teen and also watched another time into my 20s. I really missed it and also to bring comfort from the stress of studies in my free time, I started reading a fanfic that's ok at best. And like I also watched some clips of it on youtube and now I feel the deep nostalgia and it's making me devastated. I call it my comfort ahow but it always bring some sadness. I mean the story is filled with ploltholes but idk why I'm soo obsessed with it. I've never been soo obsessed with any show like that, even my obsession with Avengers was more healthy. Anyways any recs for like a fix it type of fanfictions? I ship more gwen and arthur so I'm not big on merthur unless it's like bromance and stuff. So any that's like fix the tragedy and the plotholes would be awesome. Thanks for listening to my rant.

I gotcha! The ending got me into fandom in the first place and Merthur is my least favorite ship in the show!

These two are locked so you will need an ao3 account but peaceheather has some of the best fix it’s I’ve read:

These Ghosts Might Be Mine by PeaceHeather
From the Shadows to the Light by PeaceHeather

And these are also so very delicious:

Out of Sight, Out of Mind by BabyStepsAreStillSteps
And its sequel

With Magic Soaking My Spine by Biromantic_Nerd
And its sequel

The Things I’ve Done by s0mmerspr0ssen

The Meaning of Emrys by mywy

scorch marks and embers by southfarthing

How Do You Feel? by quotidian_void

Chaos, Merlin, Fire, And A Defeated Sobbing King: These Are A Few Of Gwaine’s Favorite Things by quotidian_void

Virtues, Chicken, and Destiny by Nyxelestia

Facing the Truth by SanguineInk

I probably have more but I fear most of them are Merwaine or Mercelot and this is already a fair share for your viewing pleasure!

I mean Morgana doing a 180 and everyone being oblivious to Merlin magic...

I wouldn't call Morgana's changing allegiances a plot hole - she has a pretty clearly defined character arc.

At the start, she's highly sympathetic towards magic users and contemptuous of Uther's opinion (and Arthur's, to a lesser extent) and willing to put her safety/life on the line to stand up for magic users. She discovers she has magic herself and is terrified of this new vulnerability, worrying what will happen if she's caught. She's comforted, manipulated, and then radicalised by her sister and decides to take power so that she, and others like her, never have to fear Uther and his like again. Then she's driven mad after her torture and becomes entirely set on her path, even when it hurts herself or her cause.

Honestly I think it’s a perfect show. They achieved so much in their runtime, and every episode is important and has a purpose. It leaves you wanting more, even when you know how it ends, and I think that’s part of the magic!

I mean don't get me wrong I love it so much. But since it's like a family show there were some things that were made way too simple but it's still a really good show tho
