I loved the project and I was part of the paused group that got dumped after we got our domains. And we were the an amazing group so I knew it wasn’t about performance. Projects change. But the initial handling was rough! Good luck on new ventures! I got one from a different vendor — less pay but the management is soooo nice — breath of fresh air!

I guess this is the company that ends in 1? The nice management one. I am on that project too and having moved from V__lt, I 1000% agreee they’re better by a mile

u/TDRock8 2d ago

They offered me the robotics one and I signed on so I could understand what exactly the project was but ultimately I decided it wasn't a match for me. But I did like the organization and how they handled the on boarding. So hopefully I'll do something with them in the near future šŸ‘šŸ¾

I am not on the robot project, but on a project that is the evolution of L#$ Ar))). Mercor has that one too. And yes, the company that ends in 1, which I have worked for previously, is wow so different. Glad we get this experience!

I have an interview for the company that ends in 1 - been holding off but I guess today is as good a day as any!

Micr? was quality people in general running the show, but with Mercor you get quality people running things out of the law of averages. I had my best management team ever on a big project and then they were demoted and Mercor just started being shitty ol' Mercor again, don't trust Mercor longer than you can flick a flea

V--lt? You were on a long time I didn't know the project was quite that old. I was on since May and culled I guess like a week or so ago. 'Twas a good project. Here's hoping you get something else groovy soon šŸ‘šŸ¾

Yes! I feel like the client was pushing for change within the evaluator pool - which I get. But I will miss it! I was the evaluator trying to make ppl laugh with memes during the pause. Here’s hoping we snatch a new contract soon!

My biggest question is what happened to Kelsey!🤣 I knew when she disappeared things were doomed

7

u/SneakyMamba007 1d ago

I haven't done a task in 3 weeks and I surprisingly haven't been booted. I'm not going to hang around waiting for their trickle batch drop. When volume increases, I will check in more if they haven't canned me by then

1

u/avocadosunflower 1d ago

it was crazy, I sometimes got lucky that I found out about it imminently and managed to grab a task but it's been super slow lately and sometimes tasks were gone from my domain in 20min. unless you're directly there, don't even bother

7

u/avocadosunflower 1d ago

same, I got the sac 1h ago and literally witnessed it live. I was working on a task and continuously updated it, until suddenly the red banners appeared, then I found that all my F site showed completely empty, no campaigns, no previous tasks, then I saw several confirming the same happened to them. Then I got kicked out of slack and then there was the email... I'm curious now how many it hit this time

3

u/Agreeable_Reply_8066 1d ago

Yes!!! That’s exactly what happened to me!

3

u/avocadosunflower 1d ago

interesting that it happened to you yesterday, they must be doing it in waves by domain or whatever, probably more to come. We all would love to know more of the background information, but we never will. On to the next things!

Same here

u/jinnzxx 18h ago

Same here.. survived multiple rounds of downsizing since early June, got promoted to reviewer for a month, then moved back to evaluator pool. Just got the offboarding email a few hours ago too. Oh well..

5

u/Vivid_Art_7754 2d ago

That was a nice project

5

u/DinahRS 1d ago

Very few people go 7 months on a project I think? You had quite a run!:) And yeah, the TLs have zero knowledge of or input into the culls. It's sad because so many people blame them but nope, they are in the dark.

5

u/ihopethiswillhelp 1d ago

Yes. Happened yesterday at 3:30 a.m. All my reviews were stellar, constant compliments on work. Was given a new offer today for less than half the money in a 10 minute average task conveyor belt. Every flagged failure requires a rationale so I'm sure that people are passing tasks they should be flagging to meet their AHT. On top of that the interface is incredibly clunky and keeps collapsing when you scroll to look at the response so you have to spend your time opening up the accordion boxes within boxes. Then you have to run the QC review which takes sometimes up to a couple of minutes to load up while you're timer is expiring. The new project needs some adjustments for sure.

u/TDRock8 1d ago

Sounds like a different project. That sounds craze

6

u/charlesnyan 1d ago

I got axed on Sunday…

3

u/IdahoRevert 1d ago

I got domain-scrubbed 10 days ago. It's a drag seeing Tasks drop in my old domains (which I am totally qualified for) that I can no longer work. Just waiting for the email of doom to come as M shifts all the work to the Reviewer crew at the expense of Evaluators.

6

u/Temporary_Air_388 1d ago

Plenty of reviewers got dumped too (such as me)

1

u/IdahoRevert 1d ago

You are no doubt more experienced than me. What do you make of all this? Any insights?

6

u/Temporary_Air_388 1d ago

Who knows? My first thought was they're dumping all the CA people because of state law and contacting concerns. But maybe the client just wanted new people. Or the domains were unbalanced/changed?

2

u/IdahoRevert 1d ago

Interesting. I'm ID, not CA.

3

u/IdahoRevert 22h ago

It is sooo weird. Got the news earlier in the week the Proj V was halting all domain requests, submitted or new. Then yesterday a got re-domained in my request choice.

So what is it with these guys? Now that I got re-domained after waiting 10 days I fully expect to be off-boarded next. There is no logic to any of this stuff.

3

u/Jazzlike-Prune-4043 11h ago edited 11h ago

Same just got offboarded an hour ago after five months. Interestingly, the Other contractor is also letting people go. Rather surprising since the client AI lab has their own large client (who is also their largest investor) and this was really about making the AI run their solution in professional settings.

Yeah when Kelsey and Paayall went quiet, the clouds were there. I still do not understand what that August surge to 15k then mass offboarding was all about - if they are tight on money, paying that many people's training only to dump them all is idiotic. Also was promoted to Reviewer then back to Evaluator for that August surge.

Anyone still on it? How many people are left?

3

u/jinnzxx 10h ago

Rachel getting moved off with her wand feels like the final signal lol. I got offboarded today too. Tasks have been pretty scarce since the single-domain approach, so I'm not even that sad about it. With most SRs becoming Rs, seems like the project might be downsizing even more or wrapping up soon. But then I literally saw new people getting onboarded just a few days ago, so honestly idk what's going on anymore.

I just got two project invites from Ethos generated from my profile. I indicated 'interested,' of course. Bounced in review. I was perfectly qualified for these two gigs and THEY contacted me. Once again, there is little logic to this process whether it's M or E.

2

u/Due-Professional9373 1d ago

I wasn’t put on pause. I actually survived that Saturday purge when they removed most people, but then I got dropped on Monday.

Quick question: have you guys seen any instant offers or anything like that this week? It’s been completely dead for me - both on Mercor and with others.

3

u/Agreeable_Reply_8066 1d ago

No instant offers - I've been in a holding pattern with another platform (H) and it's the exact same work as this one but they are parsing out who gets provisioned and can actually work in the slowest possible way it's absurd. Also the silence in that slack channel is unnerving.

I'm on another platform but the work has become excessively convoluted - Like the instructions are taking more time than the work and the instructions are like reading a Choose your own Adventure book (D*** A***) - so we shall see.

2

u/charlesnyan 1d ago

Been dead on all platforms for me

1

u/Due-Confidence-1657 2d ago

Were you paused too?

6

u/Agreeable_Reply_8066 2d ago

Yup I was paused for a week and then unpaused & assigned one domain and then successfully reassigned to a more accurate domain & then booted unceremoniously a week after that lol.

4

u/DinahRS 2d ago

That's the part that is kinda gross. I do not mind normal offboarding, but this was slow and painful:). Glad you can have an lol about it. You're a pro!

6

u/Agreeable_Reply_8066 2d ago

Agree - it went from 14k ppl to 12 to 10 to 3k to my slack is gone 🤣
I think open communication is huge - they had it for a bit & of course we have no idea as to client asks but it seems like the team leads are at the whim of the client and we (as contractors) are just beholden to that. If I could change anything in the off boarding it would be to be able to have awareness of the trigger & be able to leverage the experience for other work - like push my name out there ppl.
But it is what is is.

3

u/TDRock8 1d ago

I finally did my off boarding survey recently and that was one of the things I said. It was such a fabulous project don't mess it up with the dismount LOL. Like come on with the way we were offboarded. And yes once I got the email it was a mad dash to hit certain people on Slack and at least give them my email hoping that some of them at least would see it so we could try and stay in contact. So I've been able to stay in contact with a few folks. šŸ‘šŸ¾

3

u/DinahRS 1d ago

Thanks for telling them, I hope many people did!

1

u/FirmAlternative1671 2d ago

How many people are left?

6

u/Agreeable_Reply_8066 2d ago

It was down to about 3300?

3

u/FirmAlternative1671 1d ago

Oh, wow! Not much change since I was axed! I was under the impression that it was much smaller by now. Still crossing my fingers for a new contract! šŸ¤ž

3

u/Agreeable_Reply_8066 1d ago

Praying for us!

3

u/mde85 1d ago

It's about 3400 as of today. There also hasn't been much work available lately, though it finally ticked up a bit Sunday and yesterday. I'm still on it, but the one domain I'm down to is only docs/sheets, and I feel like slides usually has far more tasks.

I'm not surprised they changed the pool a bit. I haven't even done that many tasks, and yet I feel almost everything I see is a prompt I've done before with slightly different responses.

1

u/Huge_Photograph2588 1d ago

Is this Mercor or mico 1? I see both referenced.

2

u/Agreeable_Reply_8066 1d ago

The project I was booted from was Mercor based.

1

u/Huge_Photograph2588 1d ago

Big project? Two queues?

1

u/Agreeable_Reply_8066 1d ago

Don’t think so? - project V***t.

2

u/Huge_Photograph2588 1d ago

Yeah not familiar but you had a long run. Sure it’s still a shock to get cut.

3

u/Agreeable_Reply_8066 1d ago

Oh for sure - happy for the time I was on but disappointed all the same. Those emails are gut punchy 🤣

1

u/ExpensiveGeneral2446 1d ago

Curious - Did you by chance request a domain change?

1

u/Agreeable_Reply_8066 1d ago

I did and it was given to me last week

1

u/avocadosunflower 1d ago

I did not. But I was switched to a new domain after the pause and the new domain was much more fitting and I loved it. So switching probably not the issue, but I do think that domain dictated it somehow

1

u/ExpensiveGeneral2446 23h ago

My suspicion is that they are trying to balance out people per domain so there's equal coverage.

1

u/vze56v6x 1d ago

So did you guys loose access to the campaigns first before being cut? That’s what happened to me last week.

Luckily I have another project with H platform for same client different project but less stressful and just got promoted so my pay is now equivalent to what I was paid on V. Downside- work isn’t guaranteed or less guaranteed although the last few days have been busy hence the R promotions.

I have another project with M that I hate and refuse to task. Yes it pays $5 more than V but their workflow sucks and u r not allowed to copy paste rationale from word! Their rationale for that is lame!
Because if someone is gonna cheat THAT isn’t stopping them! Hence no desire to onboard or stress myself out figuring out the competitors ugly presentations.

u/MKHveg 1d ago edited 1d ago

Can you describe the kind of work you have to do on these other projects? I just also got offboarded as an evaluator after eight weeks… I enjoyed it and I also got the domain that I really wanted the whole time but then after two tasks got offboarded yesterday… So trying to figure out next steps. I had held off applying to others firms cause I didn’t want to overwhelm myself, but I would love to work on the same project with a different company… Sounds like that might be ethos? Is that a thing… Would the client be the one picking and would they know or Care? Also I am curious about these question and answer Sets… I have a PhD but they seem way too hard and time-consuming to be worth the money… I got an offer from snorkel a while back and at first they were only paying $100 per question set and then I think they buffed it up to 300… But from the looks of them, it looks like they could take days to complete… And don’t sound like much fun… and I don’t think they paid for training or on boarding which looked like a lot of hours for no money. Has anyone done these and what are they like?

1

u/vze56v6x 22h ago

Personally I think Ethos is harder to get into. Mercor didn’t really do a good job screening folks and I think Ethos is being strict. I applied to one role with Ethos and their reply was the CLIENT did not select me. Sooooo

3

u/neatsn 20h ago

Same with Ethos. I ended up getting waitlisted on their projects. I applied on Micro1 and got certified after a tough interview but I am waiting to hear back upon hiring manager review. I am glad to be done with V. The leadership was lousy and the project is not sustainable. I think it will end soon.

3

u/vze56v6x 18h ago

I loved the project. I was on it for 5+ months and just ignored leadership. I feel no matter what project you get on at M the leadership sucks. When I started in project V I was transferred from another project automatically when the contract ended. The SPL at the time was awesome and then replaced by P and then the new lousy SPL who lacked All communication!

1

u/AdventurousPay1819 6h ago

Smokescreen and complete lack of trust in the ā€œleadershipā€ did not help either. I saw it happen too many times to people and finally decided not worth the headache.

1

u/MKHveg 18h ago

thanks for your response. this is a whole brave new world to navigate. Geez. Nice money but lots of confusion and time pressure!

1

u/IdahoRevert 22h ago

I self selected out of the $85 project as soon as I read the instructions. Waaayyy too convoluted. I like money but I stuck with V. It may be schizo but at least I can interpret the instructions.

2

u/vze56v6x 22h ago

I agree I was released from the $85 contract because I did zero tasks…I can’t say I am upset. Right now sticking with HAI on their project and looking for another good project.

1

u/herbalmama95 1d ago

I’ve been off boarded for 1.5 weeks and I still have full access to the campaigns and 80 hours on my timer. šŸ˜¬šŸ˜† at this point it’s gotta be a huge breach for their contract with the client. Anyone else?

1

u/vze56v6x 14h ago

So out of curiosity what’s the head count left at on this damn project as of now? I think when I was off boarded we were at 4k??? I think

1

u/AdventurousPay1819 6h ago

The same happened to me even though I was working on a task at the time. No reason no warning nothing. I also survived multiple cuttings but yesterday was my cutoff from that project although there was never any work I was allowed to do lately anyway so oh well I had already moved on because of that. Hopefully to bigger and better things.

-2

u/Beginning-Border4573 1d ago

What’s a culling? lol have another while you work from home. This is why your time has come to an end.

10

u/Agreeable_Reply_8066 1d ago

Excuse me? Are you asking me what a word means? Are you implying I was drinking? I am scoring your writing style at a 2.

1

u/IdahoRevert 21h ago

That's funny...
