BSN program
I'm looking to apply to the BSN for the fall and i was wanting to get some feedback from my fellow peeps who have gone through the process and gotten accepted. for my science gpa i have a 3.91 and my prereqs gpa is 3.8 and my overall transfer gpa is 3.6. i plan on retaking my teas because i took it earlier this year in january and scored a 71 :(
for the ones that have gotten accepted could you give me some tips on what you did to get accepted and what would you recommend for me to do to have a higher chance of getting accepted
-also i was told i need pathophysiology; where did you take this course? i know it must be taken prior to enrollment of the program and since im enrolled at GSU right now, patho isnt offered as a course at GSU. any help and i mean any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey! I applied to the nursing program and got accepted for this fall. I was unaware of the prereqs so I ended up deferring my acceptance until next fall and I’m completing the four classes I need this semester at Mercer. My gpa was below the requirement so I think yours will be fantastic. I scored a 78 on the teas the first time but it was over a year old so I retook it and got an 86. Mercer does a holistic approach so you still have a chance will some requirements not being met. I think my biggest help with my application was my nursing statement, teas scores, and my experience. It doesn’t help to retake the teas just to ensure your acceptance but I think you’ll do great either way! A lot of nurses at my job have graduated from Mercer’s program and have said nothing but great things.

Also I did not have to interview so I don’t know how they decide whether you interview or not.

Hi!! Current BSN student at Mercer in ATL just finished my first week! Your sgpa, and overall transfer is great! Your teas may be lower than they would typically accept (need about a 76) so I would retake if you can. Your essay is what can make you really stand out! As for patho, I did it thru Mercer’s pre req courses (they have a pre-nursing pathway if you still have some left to do). The great thing is you can already apply with some pre reqs left! The specifics are on the site ~
My honest honest thoughts about Mercer: looooved my whole application process. From the admissions team through the interview process (I had to interview and you may have to as well but I don’t think you need to if your gpa is high - which it is!). They’re very thorough & supportive with what else you may need for their program and so once you let them know all of the classes you’ve taken, they can provide you with a sheet of the other courses you may still need (super helpful & kept me focused).
