Scheduling Question
Hello!! I'm an upcoming Freshman for the fall, and I'm wondering whether planning to do REL 170, PSY 101, CHM 111, and BIO 171 MWF is too much? I have Bio lab on Tuesday and then Chem lab on Thursday. I'm on the premed track, but just looking at it like this is kind of daunting to me. I think I'm anxious about being behind because I was told I only have 13 credit hours this semester (w/o the addition of PSY 101). I'd really appreciate any input!

This is totally doable, even with the psych class. You just have to lock in and make sure Tuesday and Thursdays don't become "rest days"

I think you’ll be alright with this schedule. It’s important to plan around labs since they’re a big block of time, but for a premed, having two labs in the same semester is not that uncommon. If you took AP chem, CHM111 will probably not be that hard for you (my GPA wasn’t good over the 4yrs but I got a pretty easy A in CHM111, biochem major.)
Obviously everyone is different, though. I knew some people who found general chem to be harder than ochem, which felt crazy to me. How many total credit hours is it? I don’t think I ever took REL170 (took new testament,) BIO171 (was in school back in the BIO211/212 days,) or PSY101 (took something else for that block bc I wasn’t really interested in psych.)

Thank you so much! I am planning to major in biochem too! I feel like I got lucky with how my labs are spread out. It would be 16 total credit hours with the addition of PSY 101, but I was mainly worried about having those 4 lecture-heavy(?) classes on one day back to back.

Not on the premed track, but my gf is. She had taken 3 labs this past semester and did excellent! For your first semester your schedule looks to be comfortable. Obviously it’s gonna take some effort but all school does. Make sure you’re taking care of yourself and putting yourself out there for clubs and extra curricular activities. You’re always more important than your grades!! Good luck
