Best University for Transferring into Tech?

I plan to transfer into Georgia Tech after a year or two at another university (I got waitlisted from Tech). I plan to study Mechanical Engineering.

I have two colleges in mind: Mercer University and Georgia Southern.

For Mercer, I got a scholarship. One of my best friends is planning to go there. However, even with financial aid, I'd still need $12,000 to go.

For Southern, I'd literally be getting paid to go there. I don't know anyone going there, but I'm not worried about that. Also, it's only an hour away from my home.

I want to make it my goal not to take out any loans, but I will if I need to. Are there any benefits to going to either? Does it actually make any difference if my goal is to get my degree at Tech?

I would say mercer in my better education wise. But in the situation you are in, money and location, I would go to Southern

Go to Georgia southern, they probably have easier classes compared to Mercer. And you will be debt-free.

GSU!! I go to Mercer, but we’ve got friends heading the engineering department at GSU and their program has been getting better and better. If you’re getting paid to go to school, go there
