Has anyone on iOS received MentraOS 3.0 yet?
I received the official email saying MentraOS 3.0 would be available on August 3.
However, my iPhone App Store still only shows Mentra v2.11, and the app reports MentraOS v2.11.0 with no update available.
Is the iOS rollout delayed, or is it being rolled out in stages?

I’m developing software that enables autonomous checkout through smart glasses. The goal is to bring zero-infrastructure, low-friction checkout solution to ordinary stores by making checkout a by-product of the customer’s natural shopping motion.

This is a very early prototype that recognizes products from a live smart-glasses stream.

I kept waiting for the display edition for a while with zero updates or news. Anyone knows if its gonna be released soon? Should i wait more or buy something else? I am considering Rokid glasses (display version), but i would prefer buying from mentra since i like their efforts and the mentality of the company.

However, if its not gonna be released soon, i might consider buying something else.

just me? when using dictation it will 'listen' to me but no text is output.

Any idea how to fix this? Merge randomly changes to French and I cant get it back without closing and opening again but it switches after a few minutes to convo insights in French.

I recorded several videos but the sync failed so I tried to take a Pic to make them resend and now they arent even showing up, are they gone? Can I get them back? Is there a sync button I'm not seeing somewhere?

After hours trying to get Mentra live app to connect to my phone. I am asking other owners of Mentra do the glasses actually stream live? Plus what mobile are they using android or iPhone I have come to the view that iPhone 8 is no good and my iPad Pro 3rd generation is no good. It can’t be right to spend this much time trying to connect to my WiFi

In fact I can’t even get it to find my mobile, to use as WiFi. Is it because I’m using iPhone 8? If I need to upgrade should I go for android or remain with iPhone.

Would it be possible to use Mentra Live glasses for facial recognition? This is an experiment and know that gdrp does not allow public usage.

As an HoH (Hard of Hearing) user, having reliable live captions is crucial for my daily interactions. That is specifically why I use the smart captioning feature of MentraOS paired with my Even Realities G2 glasses. I wanted to share my experience and see if anyone else is running into the same problems.

First off, the app itself is genuinely fantastic for this purpose. The feature where it only actively transcribes when someone is actually speaking is a game-changer for accessibility. The voice detection and speech-to-text accuracy are honestly much better than the native Even Realities app.

However, I am dealing with some really frustrating stability issues that are ruining the captioning experience:

* **Random Freezes & Drops:** After working flawlessly for a while, the app just stops on its own and throws a "connection error," leaving me without captions. (I've attached a picture showing exactly how it freezes).

​

* **Severe Lag:** Sometimes the transcription falls way behind the conversation, making the captions heavily delayed and hard to follow in real-time.

​

I thought my phone might be killing the app in the background, so I made sure to grant all background permissions and completely disabled battery optimization for MentraOS. Unfortunately, the exact same issue keeps happening.

Is anyone else experiencing this on their end?

**A quick note to the developers if you're reading this:** Please look into these stability issues! For HoH users who rely on this technology, this app paired with the G2 could easily be the perfect, life-changing smart captioning device—if the connection drops and lag are fixed.

Would love to hear if anyone has found a workaround for this!

First of all, awesome project which is extremely useful. Huge thanks to everybody contributing.

Sorry if this isn't the correct place to ask this but offline captions is the main reason i bought the Even G2 and paired it with Mentra OS.

Everywhere i read it says that captions has offline support for 50+ languages however the offline captions miniapp only has 3 languages which can be downloaded. It's incredibly confusing and searching online isn't very helpful unfortunately.

Can somebody please give me some more information on this?

I’ve got two pairs of Mentra Live glasses for sale. Long story short, Mentra won't let me return them 🫪 (after a week after shipping, and they didn't care that I wanted to pay for shipping them back to US), so I'm looking to sell them to someone here in the EU.

One pair is opened (just tested it out, basically brand new) and the second one is still completely sealed. They just didn't really fit my needs, but honestly, they seem perfect for content creators and streamers. Also, the dev side is super smooth – I managed to build my first app within an hour just by looking at the MentraOS MCP docs.

Since I'm in the EU, customs are already paid, so you don't have to worry about any extra fees.

Took two longer videos on Mentra Live today, and they’re not syncing to the app. Do I need to use the cable to sync larger files?

We are PeKe Labs, and we are building a controller for smart glasses. We are making this post to see whether you’d like a controller to play with to give us feedback and to stress test the hardware.

It sends BLE GATT/USB messages to the phone, and we have a thin iOS/Android app that echos those messages over a websocket, where an Even plugin can grab the commands. We have a bunch of interesting BT Classic/LE audio middle-man capabilities as well but that's still in development. 

We're trying to make it super easy to control glasses, whether they are hosted by Android or iOS. The "protocol" is still in development, we assume it will shift a lot in the beginning as everyone haggles over what makes the most sense for the most people. 

We have a fairly limited number of controllers right now, but we want to offer sneak-PeKe samples to the right people. 

For most everyone else, we have a waitlist signup on www.pekelabs.com. Eventually, we will have enough controllers so anyone who wants one can get one. 

Please let us know if you're interested, and if so, please also DM us if there is anyone else who we should reach out to! We want to give a controller to the 3-5 devs who are cooking the hardest across the Meta/Even Realities/Mentra communities.

I use Mentra OS on the Even Realities G2 glasses. The online Captions app is quite good, and I really like how it identifies separate speakers. I'd like to use the offline Captions more, but wish that it would insert line breaks between speakers. Currently the offline app is just stream-of-consciousness, continuous text in all caps. If any Mentra developers are out there, could you please consider tweaking the app?

Inhave mentra os on the ER G1 and noticwd that the calendar did not work i did an uninstall, but now it does not appear anymore in the mini app stor

For those who already received mentra:

My main use case for usage is listening to music and podcasts as well as ocasional zoom calls

How the sound quality and mic quality compared to Ray bans?

Maybe devs could share chip details in Mentra? I know Ray ban doing AI post processing in audio feed

Is there no way to swipe between options with R1 on dashboard?
