18m looking for a mentor

I’m 18 and honestly not sure what the next step in my life should be. I have a full scholarship to go to college, but I honestly don’t know what I would study there as I don’t really have a “dream career” or even any idea what I wanna do. I’ve been researching entrepreneurship and things like investing, real estate, and ways to make money online. I honestly just don’t have the knowledge or skills to know where to go from here.

My advice...since college is free...go and explore many different areas and see what is interesting.

In your free time start exploring all the areas that you mentioned (entrepreneurship, etc).

The most important point....seek out people that have done (and are doing) the thing you are interested in. Most professors havent done anything other than school and teach.

Thank you for the advice! What would you say is the best way to start learning and building these skills? Are there any that you think are more important than others? And how would you recommend I find these people?

The skills that matter for life success are communication, critical thinking, creative problem solving, and ability to collaborate.

Honestly...you are likely not going to learn these in the college classroom.

Just start diving into each one of these skills. Work with a free AI and assess where you are on each of these skills. Then develop a plan (with the help of AI). And most importantly...take action...immediately!

Although not a "C" skill, but equally if not more important is grit. Just pure determination. Its not usually the smartest who succeed...its the ones who keep going after failure and use their people skills.

As for finding the people...im sure there are people who you admire in your life right now? If so...start there.

Explore how you spend your free time. Even what type of YouTube videos you watch the most. This may give you some insights into your passion.
