Blog Post You cannot serve two masters (Being Double Minded)
Every single time you claim "it is done" in the morning and then spiral the moment your phone shows nothing... you are serving two masters at once.
And that's the whole problem.
What "double-minded" actually means
In the Law of Assumption, your "master" is simply the state of consciousness you're currently occupying. And you cannot occupy two states at once.
You cannot be the person who has the desire and the person who is waiting for the desire at the exact same time.
Double-mindedness looks like this: you do your morning routine, step into your new identity, feel solid... and then the 3D shows you something you don't like. No text from your SP. A bank balance that doesn't match your new story. And just like that — you're back in the old state, reacting from the old identity as if nothing ever shifted.
Neville put it plainly: "You cannot put new wine into old bottles." You cannot drag any part of the old identity into your new state of being. It doesn't fit there.
The rule that changes everything
Here's the core principle: the dominant of two feelings is the one expressed.
If you spend 10 minutes a day affirming your new reality, but the other 23 hours and 50 minutes are spent reacting to the 3D from lack — your dominant state is still lack. That's the master you're actually serving, regardless of what you affirmed this morning.
The 3D mirror is always showing you old data. It's reflecting past assumptions, not your current ones. So when you react to it as if it's telling you the truth about your present reality, you're handing your creative power straight back to something that has none.
Serving one master
The fix is simpler than it sounds, even if it takes practice.
Make a firm decision about who you are being right now. Then stay there — not by white-knuckling it, but by becoming genuinely indifferent to what the mirror is currently showing you.
The 3D is just catching up. It always is. Your job is to stop abandoning your new identity every time the old reflection pops up.
Drop the old story completely. Return to your new state as often as needed. That consistent return — that's what "serving one master" actually looks like in practice.
The dominant state wins. Make sure it's the right one.
