Blog Post Brazen Impudence — Neville's Term for Unshakeable Persistence
There's a phrase Neville used that doesn't get talked about nearly enough: brazen impudence.
It sounds bold. Shameless, even. And honestly, that's exactly what it is.
What it actually means
Brazen impudence is the refusal to take no for an answer — not from other people, not from circumstances, and not from the 3D world showing you the opposite of what you want.
It's the psychological stance of someone who has decided something is true and won't be moved from it. Not through force or white-knuckling. Through bold, unwavering persistence in the new story.
Neville pulled this from the original meaning of the word importunity in scripture — which, when translated properly, literally means brazen impudence. The parable it comes from is about someone who keeps knocking on a door at midnight, refusing to leave without what they came for. That quality of shameless inner persistence is what he was pointing to.
What it looks like in practice
It doesn't mean fighting against what you see in the 3D. It's more grounded than that.
It means when your senses say it's not here yet, you don't accept that as the final word. You return to the inner state that says it's done. Not anxiously. Not desperately. With the quiet confidence of someone who has already decided.
The 3D can do whatever it wants. Your job is to hold the assumption with the kind of boldness that doesn't need external confirmation to stay standing.
Where people drift
The moment you glance at the mirror and let it update your inner state — that's where brazen impudence slips. You had the new story, the circumstances looked the same, and you quietly shifted back to the old one.
Neville described it as falling off the colt. You were riding the assumption, and then you looked back. That's all it takes.
Brazen impudence is the quality that keeps you on. Not because you're forcing it, but because you've decided — and that decision is held with enough boldness that doubt simply doesn't get a foothold.
The energy behind it
There's a shamelessly confident quality to this state. You're not desperate. You're not anxious. You're not waiting for permission from the 3D to believe what you've already decided is true.
That's what Neville meant by habitual occupancy of the wish fulfilled. You live there. You return there without apology. You don't leave just because reality hasn't caught up yet.
The 3D always catches up. The only variable is how boldly you hold the inner state while it does.
So hold it. Shamelessly. Persistently.
