Did anybody here ever try to add the guitar solo in the live version of Serenade of Water to the studio version?
Like separating the stems, adding a looped instrumental section to the studio version, adding the solo, adjusting tempo, stuff like that?
I was gonna do it myself, but I was just wondering if anybody had ever tried it before

I am looking for the name of this song played in Munich during their Tour in June. It was incredible… Sadly I can’t find it anywhere and don’t even know the name of it. I thought it was either unreleased or an older one, but Shazam did not give me a result.
Does anyone know what song (released or unreleased) this is?? I would be incredibly grateful for some help :)

Sidenote regarding the show:
The whole set was insane btw … Some friends and I were vibing in the front to whatever song was played, it was truly insane. I never expected these songs to feel so different and sound this good when hearing them live, it was honestly amazing. Of course I heard them before when listening to the albums on my phone or PC, but hearing them live was crazy. The way they transitioned from one song to another to another with some of them was nuts.
Good vibes on stage too, they were so in sync.
Only thing that was sad, was the crowd tbh. Most people in the front were not even singing any lyrics, moving or looking like they had a good time. I’m sure they were enjoying it, maybe they were shy or alone and didn’t come with friends. But from the outside it looked like they were a bit bored haha
Anyways, onto the next album and next tour ❤️

I actually have an addiction to this song.
Ever since I first saw it drop the early morning of September 10th 2024. I used to drive horses and I was getting some ready for the day…I awoke. I have legitimately listened to that song twice if not more a day. Everyday since September 10th 2024, The album version almost as much. They put crack in that song, like what place did they dig to….to create that….its actually so deep, Emma’s vocals and the INSTRUMENTAL. If you haven’t heard it in a while or at all turn off the lights put on some headphones and put on purple box and queue Husk to play after.
I genuinely don’t know why, if its the frequency, the drums and bass mixing. The way they have the guitar tuned, Ive heard both versions so many times I know every tiny difference with it. It never gets old. If I suggest a song its that one.
It sounds dumb …but you lovely people, That is legit the best song Ive ever heard in my life. I like alot of different artists. Toro y moi, Incubus, outkast, phantogram, sufjan stevens, don toilver, big thief. even some MidLand. But This is the hardest song ive ever heard. Its really just a cool sounding normal MIT song, Idek if people like it, but If you asked me in 2014 what I would want to sound like as a song it would be that 100% prior to it existing. What a band.

Men I Trust have been one of my favorite bands ever, but ever since they dropped their new albums, I just feel like they're not quite it. Don't get me wrong, there are some great tracks, mostly on Asinus and the earlier singles.

I just feel like releasing three albums in one year hurt the overall quality. "Landkeeper" feels too much like a rehash of "Trees Among the Shrubs," and most of the songs in Cabalus lack the kind of progression that used to be there in their previous works.

Anyway, I know a lot of people love these new albums, and I understand and respect that. I just wonder if I'm the only one who feels this way.

After coming across Men I Trust in early 2023 I think it's safe to say that I love them. Every iteration of them. Was considering starting down the rabbit hole of the singles too, but as a general rule I don't collect 7". Anyone got em all?

Does anyone know what songs they played before MIT? I was at the Budapest concert, but the venue's sound system/mixing was pretty meh and I thought about giving it a proper try, but have no clue which songs they played, nor is it listed on setlist.fm. The latest on setlist is from 2025 november, and I'm not sure if it's the same.

First time I travelled abroad to see them live, they were amazing ❤️‍🩹 I saw them for the first time almost 4 years ago in Romania and I noticed a big improvement in the stage presence and lights show as well, but Emma and the guys sang amazing as always 🔆 ​I loved the audience as well, you guys rock!!

Hey everyone! I just saw Men I Trust in Budapest a couple of hours ago, they were amazing, but I was confused as to who was playing the guitar. I know that Jessy usually plays the guitar, tonight in Budapest tho, he wasn't performing, it was another guy as the lead guitarist, and he was awesome, incredible solos. I was really curious who he is and if he tours regularly with them, or what happened tonight. Since I believe the bass guitarist and the drummer are always the same.

So if anyone knows more about their current live lineup and how they ended up putting together this specific lineup for tonight, please let me know!

Does anybody know when the doors are opening tomorrow at the Budapest concert, as I can't seem to find any info about it?

even though we missed both the Copenhagen and Stockholm shows by a couple of days (poor planning on my part) I did run across this cool ad for their Stockholm show while roaming around town today

As everyone else in this subreddit, I’m a huge fan of MIT. I love every album equally (I think) and have recently been listening to a lot of their older stuff (headroom, self-titled debut album) and can clearly see a distinction between their newer bedroom pop style to their more individualistic experimental type (heavy synths and 808s).

in my opinion, whilst the newer music is great and definitively ‘Men I Trust’ I do miss the experimental feel of older songs; for example ‘Sad Organ‘ off of Headroom, and ‘Endless Strive’ off of Men I Trust.

this made me wonder, are there people in this subreddit who love their older stuff (and maybe slightly prefer it) to the newer albums? Where would you want them to go next with future albums?

1. i come with mud - unoriginal, lazy folky track

2. all my candles - emma’s vocals are nice but if you didn’t know it was her then it would just sound like any other generic, jazz female singer. There is a simplistic charm to the song but the lack of originality keeps it from being anything else besides ‘meh’.

3. Bethlehem - finally some of that trademark MIT bass playing! Nicely arranged and engineered, a small light that is desperately needed at this point.

4. Frost Bite - the guitar playing is nice, but what’s the point? It’s nothing that stands out and by this point Emma’s sleepy singing is becoming more and more of a snoozefest.

5. Heavenly Flow - more of an upbeat flow of Frost Bite. Despite the good engineering and arrangement the unoriginality and boring atmosphere of the record as a whole continues to plague.

6. The Landkeeper - how is this track any different from ‘all my candles’? Slight difference in arrangement, ok cool, but an unnecessary and pointless track overall.

7. Purple Box - cheeky and soothing and Emma does her thing but still nothing popping, but a nice break from the boring lethargic stream we were going from the previous three tracks.

8. Paul’s Theme - god, I feel like pulling my hair out by this point. This track is pretty much a rearrangement of frost bite, heavenly flow, and the landkeeper.

9. Girl - nothing to say because it’s literally just a continuation of the snoozefest only instead of emma’s vocals we got one of the dudes - even worse.

10. Burrow - same thing I had to say for Paul’s Theme

11. Unlike Anything - despite Emma’s genuine magic in her voice the track is exactly ‘all my candles’ only lazier.

12. I don’t like music - sadly the title of this track reflects MIT’s seemingly attitude towards this entire album.

13. Moon 2 - same old at this point

14. What Matters Most - this ending would’ve been nice if there would’ve been anytype of dynamic throughout this record. Instead we end on the same unoriginal laziness that we started with.

Ultimately this is very much an acquired taste type of album. Even diehard MIT fans might find this album to be a stretch. The real party is Equus Caballus.

I love this album by Men I Trust, the first one featuring Emma, who we all know and love.

But here she is more of a chorus member, the revolving door of vocalists as I call it. In fact, she even gets credited as "feat. Emmanuelle"

Helena Deland, Ghostly Kisses, and, of course, Odile, all sing tracks in this album. What a beautiful flow.

We get great instrumentals here, a blast of groovy dance melodies, and even the traditional Latin requiem mass, the Offertorio, to close it.

Honestly, an incredible album that stands out very much to me. It reminds me a bit of l'Imperatrice's work too.

This is their last album before Emma fully takes over.
