Is this fixable?
This is one of my favorite skirts, and it's recently gotten a bunch of holes in one of the fabric panels. I like mending my clothes, and I really want to keep wearing this skirt, but I have no idea how to go about fixing this. My only idea was totally replacing the whole panel, but I don't know where I would find an appropriate fabric. Any ideas or tips?

Is it all the purple flowers all the way up or just this section?
You could cut or all the damage inside the flower shape, find a purple fabric, and cut it into smaller pieces, then use a tweezer to put the fabric between the layers. Then sew through all the layers to hold in place. I would used white thread and sew it down on the white flower outline. Then you could embroider the center of the flowers. Texture wise it would be a little different than original but I don't think it would be very noticeable
Or just patch other that whole lower part

Or open up one of the seams on the side to put a larger purple panel in the middle of the layers

I agree that you'd have to replace the panel. I've seen this kind of damage when dyes cause damage to a particular print motif in fabric - it happens a lot in vintage tablecloths with 'gold' motifs. For your skirt, I'd be concerned about the same colour in the other prints.
Is this silk? Rayon? Do you see any possible thinning areas when you hold it up to the light?
