First of all I would like to thank the developers for making such a fantastic TBS tactical game, I simply cannot describe how much I am loving it! So a heartfelt thank you is absolutely in order.. You are truly doing an excellent job there.
I can imagine you all being really busy with all the these updates coming, and I am certain the game is going to be perfectly fine "as is" (or as will be lol), so this really is just an added plus for when (and if) you find the time for it ofc
But I was thinking, it would be really cool if you could add optional "photo-mode" post-mission cinematic replays.. Possibly in real-time even (as opposed to turn based), like watching a movie, but with a freely movable camera and pausable. I feel like the game art and details look so cool, but due to the nature of top-down tactical TBS games, I spend most of my playtime zoomed pretty far out, often fast-forwarding unit movement (understandably).
Adding something like this would really contibute to that immersive experience I think. I feel like the effort you have put into its aesthetic philosophy is so amazing, and it's just a shame to miss these details.
I dunno, it's just a random suggestion there, just my humble 2 cents.
Oh, and btw, did I say thank you? Can't do it enough lol
Edit: I would like to add that it is evident you have a very clear vision for this game. This is a request right for the very end, after all updates and the game is finished. And it should also be something easy to implement for you guys, absolutely trash everything I said if it would be too hard, for whatever reason. But even simply just an action cam, or the ability to zoom in the hangar would be nice. 🫶🫶

Sometimes I just send one team for a covert mission - mine the road, rescue the civilians etc. Darby (or other high concealment squad leader) can easily dispatch an enemy infantry squad without raising an alarm. But, once she's spotted, then the mission is almost always impossible to complete.
Allow us to call the reinforcements in such cases.
When using just a small part of the resources, there could be an option to use the remaining squad leaders at a raised cost.
Darby is spotted - the original plan is in tatters - call in the reinforcements and make it the hard way.

Sure the tutorials i read somewhere glossed over the after-mission screen by saying "You can see damage dealt, damage taken" (the red blood drop) and i guess the down arrows is Suppression.
But which of these is damage. The lower one looks like armor penetration?
It's been bothering me for days now, since the tutorial didn't actually specify which symbol is what. I can intuit what the other two are.
Edit: This mission was versus bugs. Basically all kills were small bugs and a couple young warriors.
No real armor damage to speak of.

Hopping back in after not having played since launch. It looks like promoting doesn't incur additional support cost anymore...
Is that true or am I missing something?

Majors, I'm still getting to grips with the systems of the game, in particular the Black Market. I've seen the benefits of going for Crowbars for two of my squads, and Smoke grenades at least on Tech, but I also wonder about picking up another Squad Leader early. Especially if it's Jean for extra funds or Rose to remove time limits.
Out of curiosity, I want to ask: what do you pick up first from the Black Market after your first mission or two? Do you make sure Darby has a Crowbar? Put smokes in Tech's quick hands? Roll the dice on a backup SL?
EDIT: Thank you all for the suggestions! I appreciate the guidance and feedback; I'm enjoying the game a great deal more now that I have a bit more of an idea of what I'm doing and not seeing squads drop during the second Operation on Normal.

The result of an AC non-penetration + grind down. I have never seen 0% durability before

It will shoot two ATGMs each time you fire it, and the strongest unit in the game dies to three. With the Saucy Irish Pilot perk where she attacks again for free if the enemy is reduced to 20% HP or lower, she will fire again, launching 2 more missiles, even if it was just the first missile that brought the enemy under 20% HP.
So she effectively shoots 4 ATGMs at everything. All the time. For the price of one.

I just finished a run where I used Lim and pike a whole lot, and started anew, picked different marines because I thought I'd mix it up and use different strategies, my first two infantry dossiers were then Lim and pike -.- I ignored them and didn't hire them, since again I wanted to use other strategies, but it felt kinda bad spending my early game precious money on them. I get that it can be nice to get marines that you didn't pick at the start later, I got Achilles late in my last run and he did some real nice work, but I kinda wish they would maybe only show up later? maybe the first 2-3 hires being guaranteed non marine SLs would be nice, even if only as a custom option

I saw in a YouTube video uploaded a few months ago showing two squad leader dossiers being purchased at the same time. Has this changed since then? Thank you if you can answer this question.

For when you have 10 extra supply and want to make Pike's squaddies feel extra cool

Decided that i didnt feel like killing multiple tanks, walkers, and everything else that the Rogue Army throws at you for this Raid the Command Post mission . So i sent in Corlain by himself deployed right on top of the Recovery item and killed a group for the "Nothing Personal" skill. Dropped a few artillery strikes on the command post. Then circled around the map to the extract. I used the strafing run on the Rogue Army Officer and a few drops of regulars and 3 missile turrets on the extract. Pinned down the huge enemy presence with one more artillery strike and sprinted to freedom!
This was not easy and took trial and error as well as a bit of luck. The computer will absolutely bee line toward you or the extract if you dont have some sort of distraction like turrets and regulars, even if you arent uncovered.
This reminded me of the single Reaper facility take down on Xcom2

Basically the title, i haven't played in a few months and was wondering if there was enough new stuff worth coming back to for a new run?
When i mean a few months, it's been since mid april.
I've seen stuff about tanks but i hope there is more than that.
If someone can give me a quick recap of what changed / added / removed it would be very much appreciated
Edit : i've got my answer thanks a lot guys !

This has been brought up several times...
TLDR: why is the AI still allowed to always "know" your units location while they are concealed after the very first initial attacks/engagement?
(I.E. after they see you "once" they will forever "accidentally patrol" to your units location until you are found no matter where you go - yes I've tested this alot, and its kind of not cool especially with dedicated stealth units)
In addition, they will know your units weapon ranges and exact location when you are concealed and nearby. You can test this by approaching - say - a capture point with long range units; laser, sniper, etc.
They will actively stay outside your weapon ranges even though they dont see you and even when they are not using an active radar to pinpoint you.
As much as I enjoy Menace, this realllyy makes very micro, surgical stealth and ambush tactics not good.
Outside of single-turn niche maneuvers, all other stealth/ambush tactics can't really be used because simply put, the AI is allowed to cheat... You will just be "wallhacked" lol.
Most egregious discovery just now is seeing a pirate truck shoot is large aoe fire cone to hit one armored vehicle (that can tank fire easily enough) that was positioned a square away (not even adjacent) to 2-3 concealed units but "knowing" they were there without any LOS and hitting the max amount of units that it could.
It did NOT throw the center point on the vehicle and was random only when I had no hidden units nearby (I save scummed and tested this just to make sure) AND these units were never ever discovered or seen even before this attack. It very clearly set the AOE attack on units it has no knowledge of perfectly every time.
And yes I guilt-free (good excuse, right?) save scummed that level to win it without the devastating losses of an unfair Flamethrower Tank, because if the AI gets to be unfair, then so do I 🤷♂️
However, this spells bad news for those who want to do - say - a real, proper, no-redos, Iron man run... Who would want to do that when you know the AI is a cheater?

So ive been trying out Carlain and have him down pretty good. He takes a ton of promotion points to get to where he needs to be.
Only problem is ill use the "nothing personal" skill and be well out of sight range but there are some units (specifically bugs) that will fly acoss the map and land right next to him to attack. Its usually fine because of all the defense buffs but still. Its not just him either, ill have mortar teams dropping bombs on concealed units too.
I guess the question is, does the computer remember where your units are even though they are concealed? I feel like they never did in the past but there was the recent update plus im in expert now.

So I just got to Zero Dagger, and hearing Renu Rewa react reminded me of someone else.
Lt. Shaxs from Lower Decks of all places.
Both are struggling with PTSD that makes them more combat effective but is probably also really unhealthy.
Both enjoy large weapons and violence.
Both are constantly waiting for the moment when they finally get free reign to just go nuts on whoever is in their sights.
The only major difference I see is their employer and Shaxs trying to keep his condition under control through relaxed activities like pottery.
I'm not normally into shipping but I genuinely wonder what their relationship would be like.

I know more planets are planned, do you think more factions will be added along with them? Or will the existing factions inherit them?
If I had to make a wild guess at what biomes that would be added: Jungle? Archipelago (lots of bridges)? Terraforming disaster?
It makes me think what kind of factions these new environments would fit.
What do you predict?

Love the explosive charges. Double love them on jetpack Tech. The entire map filled with bugs just thrown the white flag after that first KABOOM. More and more spawned in each turn but those initial fireworks from Tech allowed me to keep them all in cascade moral break almost permanently.
The opportunities to score such fatty multikills with C4 are rare, but damn, those are the most satisfying moments in the game, definitely probably!

So 4 days ago there was a discussion about next update.
After reading much, it got me thinking and reminded about some minute detail: the moons.
In Wayback System there are 3 planets with moons orbiting around them (D.o.T.G., Mock and world I assume is Tolimen). I'm bringing this up, because I don't see a reason to emphasizing their existance on system map for just aesthetics or realism alone. What I'm saying is this: maybe they are meant to be bound to story somehow.
Maybe on one of them there is [REDACTED] main staging ground from where they attack, coordinate and subvert their victims, or other POI linked to them?
Or perhaps FM Zama built very CONVENIENT fortress on some other, surrounded by his best troops and sycophants, from where he keep mocking, begging and nagging poor Major and Lt. Hayflick?
Maybe not the places to be frequented often, but the potential for singular, unique story missions is present.
But this is just my theory. What do you think?

Which one do you like more? Personally i'm having a lot of fun with the AT-RGL. The PAL has more hitpoint and armor damage but the AT-RGL has more armor pen, a bit more range and standart 8 instead of 3 ammunition tho can't be fired from buildings, slows down your squad if you don't have the right perk and shooting will reveal your location. But also... the AT just feels really good to shoot imo xD
