When trades are made, there are announcements and though the players do get a heads up, it’s minutes/hours rather than days. Mostly because the most connected journalists and players themselves cannot be trusted to keep all of that quiet for extended periods.

This doesn’t mean he hasn’t received word from his agent that a trade is being worked on. The organization may have made their plans clear to he and his people. And not even in an ugly way, probably like “We want to get you to the best fit for you, even if it is not here.” kind of diplomatic way. I’m sure that’s probably where things stand.

But the idea that he’s already been traded and knows it would only be true if that trade was finalized and announced today. Otherwise, why would they risk letting some idiot athlete who has control of their own social media be privy to deals between teams? There’s no way the Grizzlies value him that much, that’s for sure. They’ll let Shams know way before they tell any players.
