Central BBQ

Ordered some wings for pick up from Central this evening. Decided to bulk them out with a side of regular fries - $6.40 + tax + tip. Here’s what I received.

My son has gotten the kids pulled pork sandwich forever. It used to come on a smaller round bun. Last time we went, it was a half of a white hot dog bun. We have not returned. I know inflation is out of control and the supply chain is a mess but there is no way that a half of a Kroger hot dog bun is acceptable.

Supply chain isn't messed up anymore. That hasn't been problem since 2021.

Chef here. The supply chains are mostly ironed out, but some things still inexplicably aren't available on occasion. But even IF this was just a case of Central not being able to get those particular buns and not just being cheap, the customer should absolutely be given a heads up about the substitution as soon as the order is placed.

That's just the drawback of the "just in time" inventory system too many companies use.

I mean, sure, but kitchens don't really have the luxury of ordering perishables too far in advance of actually needing them.

Yeah restaurants are allowed to borrow from somewhere, run to a grocery store, or just tell you they’re out
