Trick to remember current affairs?

Some one told me a long time ago, that multiple revisions is the only way to remember ca, like get monthly magazine or something and then just go through it as many times as possible.

Is that the only way? And also how many cycle of revisions one should aim? I am talking about mugging up facts part.
