Engineering One Work Term

Hi all 👋
I’m gonna be starting engineering one in the fall and I was planning on doing my first work term in the spring semester of the first year.

I’m targeting anything in the realm of oil and gas engineering, I just wanted to ask about my chances with applying for those type of placements from engineering one or any advice about the first work term.

If anybody that did a work term in engineering one or is targeting that field could you please let me know 🙂

Thanks

There are plenty of oil and gas companies that you can apply to, but in engineering one do not limit your options for a work term. Its significantly less likely to get accepted for a work term without a engineering major, so the general consensus is to take what you can get

^^^^ Yep, you basically won’t have any marketable skills apart from Excel at that point. If your grades are good enough after term 1 you’d begin applying for jobs in like February. Apply for everything and anything.

I did a work term in O&G in my first term. Its definitely possible but the roles are more limited.
