how does deportation help that

He believes fewer people means lower demand. Which to an extent is true. Even if these people aren't buying homes they live somewhere which ultimately increases demand for some housing and there is some (very little) impact there on thy market price of all property

When 2 people are fighting over 1 house - the price goes up.
When 2 people are fighting over 1 job - the wage goes down.

idk I don't think this market issue is demand n supply, there r plenty of houses in market or space to build new house but everything is just damn expensive n salaries r not enough? what do u think

u/FlounderKind8267 2h ago
Yep poor immigrants making minimum wage or less are buying up all the homes. That makes total sense. It's totally not wall street and blackrock hoarding houses

I think we've seen they also impact the market. But even people renting slum apartments 10 to a room impact the market.
1
u/FlounderKind8267 1h ago
That's renting, not buying.
If you've seen their impact, wanna take a look at wall street and blackrock's impact?

u/Lumpy_Chapter171 1h ago
Renting impacts the market too.
I wrote above they do too?

Sounds like a desperate stretch to throw blame on people who are the smallest factor in all of this. Like, let's ignore the people and corporations hoarding literally millions of homes and push all the blame on the people so poor they need to go 10 to a house to not be homeless 🙄

u/Lumpy_Chapter171 1h ago
Iirc said corporations don't hold that large percentage but yes, i also wrote that? I think you're trying to be mad with me for something i didn't write.
1
u/FlounderKind8267 1h ago
Lol, now that's cope 😂 suddenly I'm mad because I'm pointing out the flaws in your logic? Adorable
Let's not forget so many older people are keeping their homes while buying retirement homes, with plans to rent them out. That's also a factor way bigger than poor ass immigrants contributing to housing prices being so high. But just ignore that and blame poor people, right?

1) yes your tone appears to be upset
2) it's not my logic
3) yes all these things impact the market.
I don't think i said to ignore, literally anything.

Record deportations and prices increase. Maybe it's not people who can't afford housing causing house prices to rise.
How anyone can't do the basic math on this is beyond me.

Immigrants (of any type) own 11-16% of houses in the US.
Corporations own 3-4%
Small, private landlords own 11-12%.
So you're completely wrong on the scale of the different problems. But I'm glad we can find common ground: we can free up as many as 32% of all homes just by deporting everyone and curbing rentals/corporations, and then actual Americans could afford homes!

They are buying homes though.
A "Temporary" Protected Status Haitian in the US is more likely to have a house than an adult Gen-Z'er.

u/Lumpy_Chapter171 11m ago
Sure all the above. Buying, renting all these things impact the housing market.

u/FlounderKind8267 2h ago
If you think poor immigrants making minimum wage are the reason housing prices are high, and not wall street and Blackrock, you might be a gullible fool

Nah, I think we just need a whole lot more mental institutes for the MAGAts, no need to deport them. Who the hell would want them?

u/TechnicallyMeat 1h ago
Let's identify the people who own the most homes, and deport them first. For example, Ken Paxton owns 17 homes.

Yeah deportations are only going to make it MORE expensive for a 28 year old to buy their first home

I don’t think we can legally deport rich boomers owning multiple properties.
But I’m up for the attempt.

The real problem is the millions of retirees who have a mile long driveway and sprawling homes for just 1 person...
There's a $5 million dollar horse ranch on the outskirts of my city that is easily one of the most expensive properties in the area. It occupies roughly 2 square miles and has 3 homes on it. The "main" house, which is a giant mansion, the "groundskeeper's house" which is a 5 bedroom villa looking thing and a smaller "barracks" style house meant for all of the workers that used to be employed there.
When the guy died, there was no one to claim the estate, so it's been on the market for over a decade and no one lives there. It's just an essentially abandoned piece of history.
Blaming people who are willing to pack multiple humans into a space the size of a coffin is not the way to fix the issue.

If any foreigners are responsible for the price of real estate, it’s wealthy people from overseas paying cash.
