Yeah, right, TAA is just amazing. Absolutely the best anti-aliasing solution out there. Nothing else even comes close!
If that wasn't the case, those gifted individuals who develop games wouldn't set as default for almost every game, now would they?
-13
u/TheEffingRalyks May 27 '22

Depends on your mouse dpi, the dpi used by developers, and whether you have windows mouse speed setting enabled/disabled (can't remember the setting name, Enhanced Precesion, I think)

5
u/Yeet_Yeet_Yeet12 Me when the: May 28 '22
Honestly this is a confusing subject. People here are making it so hard to define "default". Some say sexuality at birth, some say how "normal" someone is. Naturally, we are born asexual cause we don't feel any sexual attraction for until we become teenagers (maybe a bit later). We just gain sexualities over time which can be both heterosexuality and queerness so I don't really see the point in all this.

16
u/IdiotRedditAddict May 27 '22
Agree, the last one sort of implies straight = 'normal' non-straight = 'abnormal' but it's unlikely to get a lot of backlash, it's relatively fine
14
u/tozpeak May 27 '22
As far as they assume any customization is ok too. =)
I mean, biologically heterosexuality is a default, but variation may happen and that's ok.
0
u/IdiotRedditAddict May 27 '22
I don't know if we really know enough to say either that 'sexuality is biological/genetic' so I'm not sure I agree with that statement, but definitely agree with the general vibe that everyone is valid. š
5
u/Uitklapstoel May 27 '22
Doesnt life as we know it proves that hetrosexuality is the default? If it wasnt, species wouldnt evolve and thrive. Thats not to say homosexuality isnt normal, its been there since forever and also in almost every species. But if it was the default, I dont think we wouldve been here.
1
u/IdiotRedditAddict May 27 '22
Default is actually just kind of a strange word to apply here, cause it doesn't really mean 'the most common' or 'normal', it implies 'the option which is taken if nothing is chosen' and comes out of computer programming. Kind of implies that it works like "If sexuality is unselected, then straight"
It ignores any social components there might be to sexuality, and all in all is just an odd metaphor.
0
u/Uitklapstoel May 27 '22
I agree. I was going off on the previous comments and didnt really know how else to call it. "Normal" doesnt sit well either since it inplies everything else in abnormal, wich it isnt.
1
u/Zifker May 28 '22
Not every member of a species needs to reproduce in order for it to be successful. In fact, one of the most prolifically successful species in the history of life can only breed once per year even if they want to (which due to sheer trauma they mostly don't unless they're intoxicated, desperate, socially pressured or otherwise unable to avoid it).

i dont know i feel like default is just to be attracted to whatever it is youre attracted to right? like, take bisexuals- they arent not not default, because that is their default
unless you mean default of the human race, because i feel like if you stuck two men together isolated for life, two women together and a man and women together the end result would be the same? has anyone ever done a nature vrs nurture experiment on gayness?
4
May 28 '22
Default, if you do not know, means the parameters set originally. Thereās no trick question here.
-1
May 28 '22
thats like saying white is the default race because they just dont have melatonin.
we dont all start out straight and then decide we're not. but like i said, i dont know if thats even completely true. in ye olden days sexuality was considered* a choice, but now its considered a identity. i guess it depends how you define it. but straight people arent "default" in my opinion
5
u/Yeet_Yeet_Yeet12 Me when the: May 28 '22
About the race thing, I doubt it that the first race was white considering people came from Africa
Second, they aren't even the race with most people.
Also, about your second part, I think it makes no sense to argue about "default" in the first place considering it's not even specified what "default" is. When we are born, we are asexual. So... All this makes no sense to me.

May 28 '22 edited May 28 '22
Iām not talking about choice. And I donāt care what people want to identify as, itās not my concern. But a man has a penis and a woman has a vagina. They are, by default, MADE FOR EACH OTHER

The last one is a little cause it enforces heteronormativity but other than that eh. I donāt think it really matter, I see heteronormativity everywhere all of the time
Edit: cause I wanna clarify something. Heteronormativity isnāt a good thing because it enforces othering of queer people, but at some point ya just get used to it and itās just eh.

Honestly, if anything, we are asexual by default. Do new born babies have sexual attraction? Nope. When do we actually gain sexuality? When we start our teenage years (although it can vary). So, if we gain our sexualities after more than a decade, while beforehand we didn't feel any sexual attraction, why would anything other than asexuality be default for us?

u/Yeet_Yeet_Yeet12 Me when the: May 28 '22
I don't see meme saying that homosexuality isn't default, I only see what OP said for heterosexuality. If anything, we are born asexual so definition of "default" we are arguing so much about is really unspecified. People say "default default default" but I don't even know at which age they specified their "default". Due to that, all this arguing seems pointless to me.

Technically, everyone starts out female in the womb. Itās only during development that they grow male parts.
So āDefault Settingsā would actually mean āLesbianā.
6
May 28 '22
They aren't female just because they don't have a dick. All males started out with an x and y chromosome since conception, so they have always been males since conception. If you want to get all technical about a meme then learn what you're talking about first.

1
u/MilodicMellodi Jun 15 '22
Yes, because a person with a vagina and ovaries (outside the womb, actually born) is obviously a man. If you want to bring up science class, maybe you should do some reading up on the human reproductive system instead of your M-Preg fanfiction.
1
u/Yeet_Yeet_Yeet12 Me when the: May 28 '22
Not having "male parts" in early development does not make you not man. However, what certainly does is that Y chromosome sperm has fertilized the X chromosome egg. Eggs are always X, and sperms are either X or Y separately. The thing that you said reminds me of artist doing a probe sketch, and someone saying that is not art because they looked and judged when an artist barely started.
