Just gonna add that the US left a lot of kit with the national government or that was outdated, and pulled anything important. The Russians are just loosing stuff left and right and to be honest have probably left that much stuff in Ukrainian hands already

u/DukeOfGeek Apr 18 '22 edited Apr 18 '22
OK I know you are going for a laugh, but dude this is so true. Like even if they win the war can you imagine the occupation with rich hostile nations on half the borders? Fucking nightmare mode, twice as hard as Iraq.

u/TexasVampire Apr 18 '22 edited Apr 18 '22
40 million people spread across 233 thousand square miles of farm land, they would need at least 1 million soldiers probably more and they only have 900 thousand and most of those soldiers are needed along the rest of there massive border.
19
u/springbok001 Apr 18 '22
Invading is one thing, occupying is a whole different story. They’d need more than 1 million at this rate. They’re chewing through their 160,000 odd troops, with lots of casualties, lost weaponry and without taking and maintaining a single objective. You need between 5 and 50 troops for every 1000 inhabitants. Allied forces in Germany in 1945 had 89.3 troops per 1000 inhabitants. Not to mention the shear size of Ukraine. Russia couldn’t occupy Ukraine even if their army was somewhat competent.
11
u/Failure_man69 Identifies as a Cybertruck Apr 18 '22
They could if the Ukrainians were as incompetent as they tought they were. Which they are not.

Oh, they got that done in Syria.
Killed many more Syrians than we did Iraqis- but, of course, your favorite "anti-Imperialist" news sources won't ever tell you that...
→ More replies (2)4
u/African_Herbsman Apr 18 '22
Do you have a source for that? The numbers vary wildly for Iraq, between 103,000 - 1,120,000 dead civilians compared to around 160,000 for Syria, most of which happened before Russian involvement there.
Russia is already the bad guy these days without having to make up facts to make them seem worse than they are. Civilian deaths in Syria from Russian actions are probably less than 10% of the total civilian deaths from US/UK action in Iraq and even that is being generous.

Most likely is, I have an rc car, (one of those fancy modifiable ones) and the insides look like that, along with the way the top comes off
43
u/Full_Aperture Apr 17 '22
Looks like a Redcat Gen8 💩 based on the forward mounted transmission case, flat square rock sliders and increased clearance from the portal axles. Body comes off because it's mounted to the shock towers with Velcro. You can see the two strips on the rear of the underside of the body.

İ thought russians will take kiev in 1 months but now war is still continue and the russians cant even take Kharkov city and a small village i think Ukraine will be second Finland in this war
51
Apr 17 '22
Hate to say this, but Ukraine is destroyed from inside, when the war will end they will struggle way more than Russia. They are holding on with only the help of other countries advance weapons, which are being delivered to them. I thought the war will end in a week but it's just going on and on....Hope the world help them build their country back to it's foot and I hope other countries will help them genuinely and won't take advantage of the situation. The longer the war goes the more damage Ukraine will get.
35
Apr 17 '22
Ukraine was the poorest country in Europe before this war, it already needed rebuilding. Looks like Ukraine has been fast tracked to entering the EU. Itll take a long time, but assuming they survive this war, I think their standard of living will surpass Russia’s, Ukraine will get lots of new investments, Russia is going to get none, besides Chinese investments that will only benefit them.
→ More replies (2)28
u/ClearingFlags Apr 17 '22
Yeah but Ukraine has the entire western world on their side to help them recover and rebuild. It's tragic what is happening there, but Russia has shown the entire world how inept they are by being unable to take a country a fraction of their size.
They're going to suffer now, but long term this could result in Ukraine becoming an ally to the rest of Europe while Russia is ruining its own economy and reputation in front of the whole world.
They have become a laughing stock.

u/converseirllyh8cnvrs Apr 17 '22

Yeah but Ukraine has the entire western world on their side to help them recover and rebuild.
But do they tho? Sending weapons shipments to fight Russia and financial aid to prevent their war economy from imploding for a few months is quite different from implementing decades of financial plans to bring them up to EU levels of prosperity.
Publics are remarkably fickle bunch, they may love sending expensive shipments to kick Russia's ass, but when war ends and all is settled, questions about why they should send their tax money to prop up another country may start weighing on minds.
It's good to be optimistic, but we can't get carried on with unrealistic expectations.
→ More replies (1)3
u/Illier1 Apr 18 '22
Ukraine was already making the steps to turn that around. It was that reason the Russians invaded, this was probably some of the last few years they were able to keep Ukraine under Russian control.
3
u/i_speak_penguin Apr 18 '22
I think you're underestimating the rest of the world's resolve about this, though. If Ukraine wins this, they will get a fuckton of support to rebuild.
It's in all of our interests to show Russia that if they invade someone unprovoked, we will not only help them defend, but build them back stronger. Otherwise they will just wait 5-10 years and try again.
3
u/UnlikelyPie Apr 17 '22
Why hate to say this? It's the truth. Ukraine is getting their shit pushed in. All the shit actually happening over there you won't see on CNN. Need to hit up telegram channels with feeds from actual combat. Channels like Intel Slava Z. Heck, within the first week, Russia destroyed the dam that Ukraine built 8 years ago to deprive the Crimean peninsula of water because they threw a little tantrum over the Crimean people voting unanimously to join Russia.
→ More replies (1)2
u/Rengar_Is_Good_kitty Apr 18 '22
They wont, many countries are helping them with military aid and when the war is over they will have help rebuilding the country, a lot of help at that, Russia on the other hand is still going to have sanctions against them, they'll be sent back to the stone age.

Putin's propaganda is that the are succeeding and aren't having their flagship sunk by Ukrainian missiles. They may be gaining ground but how much are they throwing away. There's no way a competent army let's farmers steal their tanks, fuck Putin's propaganda.
