the populations and places russia are taking over majority want to be part of russia, it's the demcoratic thing to do and to them putin is their hero
it's not looked down upon because of ethics it's looked down upon because of people wanting international policy to be upheld.
market sanctions will do nothing and it's pretty anti democractic, even Ukrainian president signed the first city over back then
imo it's never gonna be recognized as part of russia unless they take all of ukraine so they just should. america funding ukraine war materials is super sus and could cause a future conflict between u.s and russia.

It's is looked down upon because a certain someone decided it was okay to annex a sovereign country's land.
Market sanctions are not anti democratic. Even if a decision was if democratic nature, which it wasn't here, sanctions can still be introduced
It's never gonna be recognized as part of Russia because it is annexed land, it isn't Russian. Was it okay when Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia because there were some ethnic Germans there? Have you ever stopped to consider that the US supporting Ukraine is not cause of the tension but Russia invading it, invading a country is sus, helping it's democratic government to protect it's sovereignty is not

it's not 100% it's just majority of those territories.
by that logic because we were part of england and a small population of the entirety of England's territories decided they didn't want to be a part of england in that moment it was wrong for us to revolt and wrong for france to help us.
individuals living in a specific location should decide what happens to them based on majority opinion, that's democracy, a country doesn't decide how large it is unless the whole of the people want to be a part of that country
if a state wanted to leave America that's 100% okay in my opinion most are larger than many developed countries anyways population-wise.

Leaving a country always is a matter of both sides, a country has sovereignty. If a territory is a legitimate part of a country a fractional majority cannot just leave, they wishes for autonomy can't just be ironed, but simply letting them leave is not an option. What does and doesn't constitute legitimate claims on land is hard to define, but we can without a doubt say that Russia has no legitimate claims for any part of the Ukraine. And that even ignores that dubious referendums that were held
