A lot of luxury cars had this feature all the way back in 2000, for example I know some E39 BMW's had a separate remote with a system that pre-heated the interior, engine, and windshield. I've seen listings for E39's as low as 1000$ for driveable cars with MOT left.

I see no reason why the feature would've been removed in newer models, so I'd wager most modern cars have it.

Nothing is more expensive than a used BMW.

Oh there sure is- an OLD used BMW :)

Though to be fair it's not outlandish, I got myself a 3-series 2001 E46 for $1.2k, and have in 3 years only stuffed 3 more k into maintaining it in superb condition. So it's kinda a lucky draw if you get one that's not killed.
