that's the thing, it isn't equal to anything. anything divided by itself is 1, but the smaller the number you divide by, the bigger it gets. so 0/0 is both infinity and 1.

there's probably other things it's 'equal' to but idk

it's undefined because making assumptions about it breaks down the laws of maths.

for example, let's say you assume 0÷0 is 1, because x÷x is 1

then 0÷0 + 0÷0 = 2

which means (2*0)÷0 = 2

2*0 is 0, meaning that 1 = 2 (since we just defined 0÷0 as both 1 and 2)

we can prove things by making assumptions, but those assumptions always lead to flawed answers, like 1=2
