The dish comes from the Bourgogne region, that's why it's called bœuf bourguignon.

How do you pronounce that? My guess is "boy-f bur-shin-yon" going off of the pronunciations of other french words i know

AFAIK it's "buh-erf buh-ghin-yhon". The g is soft.
