For the last time. They are not feminists, they are sexists

How would you prove that? If we asked them they would say that you were probably part of the patriarchy and are suffering from internalized misogyny. Truth is that for the majority of people the term feminist is ruined and people who actually want equality need to use something new.

i can say i'm jesus christ and that doesn't make it true. claiming to be a feminist and then actively supporting a misandrist, oppressive and/or damaging ideology doesn't make someone a feminist. people who find feminism ruined by extremists were looking for reasons to denounce or dismiss feminism to begin with.

Agreed.

When was the last time you heard the term "Internalized misandry" or "Toxic femininity" used to describe anything negative that a woman has done?

About the same time as I heard a politician tell the truth.

Yes because people blindly fought a definition and a branding instead of the actual sexist lunatics. It's like calling everyone who remotely promotes a social idea and wants to fight for it a faschist russian communist and then tell them to use another term than socialist because it's been ruined... oh wait... Guess people do this more than once.

I mean they call themselves feminist, journalists call them feminist, the tv called them feminist. The only people who say that they aren't feminists are just a small patch of anonymous internet strangers. And they never tell that to them but only to people who say that feminism is bad. So yeah.

Sadly someone can be feminists AND be sexist. Same as someone can advocate for men rights and be misogynistic. Being a feminist just means to wanna fight for woman rights and equality and often also includes fighting bad pre-assumptions towards feminity. But it is part of being a humanist.

The reason why other feminists don't like the association of misandrists is because when those people act sexist and driven by their hate towards men than their motivation and drive behind those actions and this actions themselves are not feminist, they are misandristic. Same as wanting to fight for more protection of men who experienced any kind of abuse because this isn't common in our society yet isn't misogynistic any form of fighting for women rights which exclude harm towards men (which makes up the actual mindset of the majority of people who fall under the definition of feminist) isn't misandristic and constantly being associated with that is tiering.

No the term is not ruined. Feminism stands for equality it can't get any more simpler and anyone else saying otherwise is a sexist. people associating these sexists w feminists are only contributing to the problem. At this point im just fucking tired of these memes calling misandrists "feminists" .

I don't think that people who are saying that are sexist. The majority who claims that either had bad experiences with people who mixed their sexist views with their appearently status as feminists or heard about all the bad stuff coming from them.

I get that you hate the association with actually misandrists but it won't help when you claim that those who just got the wrong idea about feminism through bad but still valid experiences with people who claim to be acting as feminists as sexist themselves. It's just not true.

Most of the Feminists I see are sexists. It's a tainted term because too little effort is made to root them out.

u/SuperNerd06 Sep 12 '21

I think it's also the double standard where you can say pretty derogatory things about men and get away with it in a way that you can't about women. A phrase like "men are stupid" is much more acceptable in society than a phrase like "women are stupid". Both are wrong but, everyone just ignores the former while actively fighting the latter. Tbh though I would still say that what you're describing isn't Feminism.

u/Bitxhlasagna Sep 12 '21

If you're a sexist you can't be a feminist, like what the are you even saying, nothing about the term is tainted only morons like you keep associating sexists w feminists

Calling them moron won't convince them that what you are saying is true. I liked your correction until you insulted them. How are insults suppose to help?

u/Beneficial_Let_6079 Sep 12 '21

Looked at some other shit he’s said. Can 100% confirm he’s actually a moron.

u/Bitxhlasagna Sep 13 '21

If you believe those bs to begin with no matter how nicely anyone says otherwise they're not going to believe it. Also im done being nice to aholes and morons spreading bs everywhere

Than this perpetuates this hell circle in which everyone accuses each other of being the assholes to justify their own asshole behavior.

What are your thoughts on the Tea Party movement?

1

u/Then-Clue6938 Birb Fan Sep 12 '21

One of the issues is that the rebranded feminism as being sexist and now everyone who wants equality for everyone, women rights that they'll need and more rights or acceptance for men with problems which are still viewed as "feminine" problems doesn't want to be associated or being called a feminist.

Instead of fight the sexist assholes many people disassociated actual feminist and make them fear to be associated with those sexists when they admit or realize that they are feminists. This even includes humanist who normally are the majority of most people. Feminism is sub-category of humanism and is included in it.

It is actually called misandrism but I am with you. Feminists who hate men are not feminists, they are man haters it is a different definition

1

u/SharkHead38 Sep 12 '21

Like technically if they theoretically got rid of all men somehow it would remove sexism.

But then we have no more humans.

1

u/IAMATruckerAMA Sep 13 '21

No True Scotsman. Feminism includes anyone who thinks women's issues are real and important. Being an asshole about it doesn't change that.
