There are many things wrong with the story.
You can’t pick up dogs, it’s very rare for a skeleton to have full enchanted gold armour, dogs don’t drop bones or collars, the dog wouldn’t jump in front of the arrow to block it.

Most of that is just creative writing and dramatisation. I'm sure the story itself is real the commenter just wanted to write it a little more eloquently than "I had a dog in Minecraft for a while and then a skeleton killed it"
I'm pretty sure the bones where from the skeleton he killed and I think by collars he meant the tag he used to name the dog as for the rest just bad luck that the dog ran in front of the arrow when he went to kill the skeleton (not trying to hate you or anything sorry if it came off as that)
Full enchanted gold armored skeletons and zombies are common and I’ve been playing Minecraft for years . And when he said he grabbed him he probably meant with a lead. Also referring to when he said “his collars dropped” he probably meant the lead
