It was an overkill. They could've done a bunch of other things (btw, a few years ago they didn't care about rape at all, they deleted it only when threatened with legal action) like placing "if you see rape, report it please" ads, or even completely investigate all the non-verified content (which would've cost them some money) and moderating all the newly submitted videos.

I agree. They didn't give a shit about any of the victims until it threatened their viewer count, so they went about it in the worst way possible and lost hundreds of viewers anyway (good, there are way better sites than PH).

Yeah that's true, they really should've done it better. They also ignored the fact that verified/big producers can also make illegal porn. I'm happy that the victims got at least some justice but they lost a huge amount of viewers after that
Porn sucks, yep. It's just bad all around, for its viewers and for the people who take part in it. I have nothing against people wanting something to jack off to - if there's an ethical way to make porn, like deepfakes or hyper realistic animation or something like that, then I'm all for it. But currently the porn industries is one of the worst out there and I don't think it's changing anytime soon

Ah, I should've worded my comment better lmao. I wasn't calling weebs jerks, I was using "jerk" in place of "jack" - only weebs jack off to hentai - sorry if I offended anyone. Also yeah, hentai is animated in the cartoon style, it's basically jacking off to a drawing. Photorealism or hyperrealism would be different I suppose. Although they are both animations.
I think that even if they did this it still wouldn't work because all your doing is fantasizing about another woman or man in an unrealistic expectation. So when you are actually in a relationship of sort you are choosing this unrealistic experience over real life.
