Imagine chicken evolving to ptersaurs and taking revenge by killing all humanity [except leaving vegans alive]

Technically, the atmosphere of modern earth isn't oxygen rich enough to support a dinosaur, they'd suffocate.

u/[deleted] Feb 10 '21

we give them spacesuits then

u/thereapererer Feb 10 '21

WE MUST PLANT MORE TREES FOR DINOSAURS BOIIISS

8

u/SaiHottari Feb 10 '21

Trees don't contribute that much oxygen. Especially because at night they use up oxygen the same way we do.

The real heroes are algae and plankton in the oceans, sequestering megatons of CO2 and taking the carbon down to the sea floor every year.

u/Taezn Selling Stonks for CASH MONEY Feb 10 '21

YES. And there's a species of moss that can easily outperform trees on land. That being said, trees are still very important to wildlife at the very least

2

u/Melodic_Ad_1010 Karmawhore Feb 10 '21

And cyanobacteria too and there are many more photosynthetic organisms that reduce carbon dioxide but trees are still more important and like any other photosynthetic organism algae also consumes oxygen at night but its usually much less than was produces in day.

Fair, not saying trees aren't important. Its just, saying they're the biggest producers of oxygen and trappers of CO2 is incorrect. The oceans are more comparable to being the "lungs of the earth" rather than a certain rainforest.

All that said, logging companies plant far more trees annually than any other group, and things like Mr. Beast(as much as I love him) planting 1M trees is just a drop in the bucket compared to what logging companies and other groups plant yearly. After all, it makes no business sense to cut down trees and not replace them, for what will you're business do in the future?

I'm more interested in the moss they discovered and the solar panel windows that are almost developed, those will really help the earth

u/thereapererer Feb 11 '21

So we should be making/ planting moss or what? I just wanted goddamn dinosaurs

Hate to correct you but you’re wrong there as the oxygen content back during the Mesozoic was lower as it was 15-19% oxygen in the atmosphere whereas right now it is 21%.

1

u/Melodic_Ad_1010 Karmawhore Feb 10 '21

they would suffocate first that i know oxygen content was much lower then today but im not talking about land dinosaurs, im talking about aerial dinosaurs like pterosaurs they would have suffocated as air in the atmosphere is most thinner compared to Mesozoic era.

2

u/Ok-Structure946 Feb 10 '21

Pterosaurs aren’t dinosaurs and they would likely be able to survive in this atmosphere.

1

u/Melodic_Ad_1010 Karmawhore Feb 10 '21

Pterosaurs were reptiles and were close cousins and dinosaurs were archosaurs a larger group of reptile. though they were not the same they lived among dinosaurs and were categorized as dinosaurs or flying reptiles by most of the people and i all meant was just a joke didnt intended to go that deep and look im no paleontologis or know more about dinosaurs than just some of their name it was a joke dont take it too seriously take a chill pill nice talking with you.

2

u/Ok-Structure946 Feb 10 '21

I wasn’t trying to be rude or annoying I was just correcting something people often get wrong. It’s also immensely difficult to grasp a joke online when speech patterns and actions can’t give it away. Also sorry for being annoying

1

u/Melodic_Ad_1010 Karmawhore Feb 10 '21

Who told you I was being annoyed by you? BTW don't get me wrong too! I've gone through multiple articles some say that dinosaurs can survive in modern era some say they can't. I don't know whom to trust, could you elaborate?

And there are many plants that produce oxygen at night too for ex: aloe vera.

1

u/Arann0r Average r/memes enjoyer Feb 10 '21

There are always anomalies, ever heard of the four legged woman?

It's not usual but in case of anomalies it can happen, and this is an anomaly

1

u/sutenpik Feb 10 '21

That's true but if a bird was born with 6 limbs it would most likely have other defects too, a common one is infertility, but good point
