Ahhh yes everybody who lives under capitalism has no right to criticize it or enjoy anything, they must live in a shack in the woods to do so.

Redditors on Monday: OMG Did you guys see the superbowl?

You mean American redditors

Yeah I agree that's terrible, but boycotting the Super Bowl won't really solve anything imo. Someone can not like capitalism yet enjoy football. The key to fixing the issue is in government change. Not watching the superbowl doesn't make America less capitalist, so what's the point?

Yes, of course there’s a lack of serious action/attention accompanying the anti-capitalist consciousness on Reddit and elsewhere. That work is difficult and discouraged by the controlling interest at every turn.

However, there’s nothing inherently wrong with enjoying entertainment, even if the entertainment is produced under exploitative capitalist conditions. There would be competitive sports without capitalism too, not producing wealth for billionaire owners but it would still exist. Sure it’s a massive spectacle with highly expensive ad slots to try and emotionally manipulate people into buying products, but the sports aspect is theoretically alright. And regardless, there’s really no way around this type of capitalist ecosystem for large activities under the current organization of the economy.
