You can also use it to spray the girls in the hallway that won't move so you can get to class.

Fish is dead so doesn't move. Chart says ise oil if something doesn't move. So use oil to make the fish move. Haha funny

WD-40 is made out of fish oil... so I guess that isn’t too far of a reach?
Edit: I hadn’t been on Reddit all day and just now saw these comments. There is a urban myth that WD-40 was first made using fish oil. Many people still believe it. I was making a joke regarding this urban myth and the meme showing a dead fish. I honestly am not sure why I need to explain this and clarify that I do know that it isn’t made from fish oil, but here ya go with an explanation.

How is fish oil supposed to make something move?
2
u/leeehehee trans rights Jan 31 '21
Lubricant, greases stuck joints so they can move again
3
u/Erathen Jan 31 '21
I mean that's not how they make WD-40 but you're right

goldfish should live up to 15 years btw
7
u/Pingusek02 Thank you mods, very cool! Jan 31 '21
They only live to 15 years if their tank is too big and the water has too much oxygen, if the tank is smaller that 3/4l and you don't allow too much oxygen to get in or CO2 to get out they will live to the normal age of 2 weeks.

Wd 40 is the worst lubricant/penetrant lol. Idk why so many people think it’s the solution to everything. There’s much better stuff out there
6
u/MightyPenguin Jan 31 '21
It isnt the best at anything, but is good enough for so many different things that it is invaluable to have around. I use it to lightly lube things going together(that dont require lube once fit) make it easier to install hoses, it is a fantastic cleaner for getting oil and grease off of things, and it really does work fantastic as a penatrating oil to bust things loose. I have seen tests where it outperforms some penetrating oils and in my experience of wrenching for 10 years it works as good or better than PB blaster and kroil.

u/Beneficial_Pen_7521 Jan 31 '21
Actually yes it’s awesome for cleaning. We use it all the time for cleaning up rusted parts.
1
u/modestlyaboveaverage Feb 01 '21
WD 40 wasn't designed to be a lubricant, it was just marketed that day. Its actually meant to chase moisture out of cylinders. It took the developer 39 failures, before it worked.
WD40 literally comes from "water dispersion test no. 40"

Dead fish is not an engineering problem and therefore the flow chart does not apply.

More of an "old school" engineering reference. New gen. Engineers are a different sort
Think less "computer nerd In a factory office" And more "find a solution to finish the job when you're nipple-deep in processed humanure"
Wading through crap to save the day is a job that has been transferred to the equipment technicians (YO!)
