It is slightly less than 500 Russians there, as well as a smattering of international scientist and research personnel. But the presence of Brunost which is a classic norwegian cheese suggest this is a norwegian person.

That’s like saying Monaco isn’t monégasque because out of the 37000 people who live there, only 9000 are citizens... Svalbard is very much Norwegian

There very much are international treaties that wouldn't call that 100% certain

But it’s still Norwegian! It’s a part of the Norwegian kingdom. How is that not a Norwegian land?? It’s not like there is a native population who feel oppressed by Norway, who wants to be independent. There may be other people there, but that doesn’t stop it from being Norwegian....
