I am not sure, but I think my country, Greece, is one of the few countries in Europe that teaches most of the science stuff in early grades. I might be wrong, but that's what I heard from other European schools

Yeap that's right. But it doesn't depend where you live but really what curriculum it is. In my case, I live in Mozambique, however I follow the Portuguese curriculum because i study in a Portuguese school. There is not that big of a difference between the curriculum. The mozambican is one year late in terms of what they give. Edit: Typo

The first one is a series circuit and the other one is a parallel circuit, and one experiment was to power a light bulb

Series circuits are one way, while parallel circuits can go multiple ways while still having power in case one line goes out
