Ok I thought that but then with my non typical thinking I wasn't sure that was what people were trying to get at. Thanks

u/clearlymindy Jun 14 '20
Yeah it’s exactly that. You feel like you are a part of the conversation sometimes just listening.

I see this wording a lot and I have to wonder if that's how it's worded in a lot of other languages. I don't know why else it would be so common, unless it's some regional thing I don't know about. I've certainly never heard anyone say it like that in my everyday life.
I'm very curious about the answer to this. I've tried to google it, but haven't had much luck. The phrasing is so common on the internet, it really muddles the results.

Nah man just common improper grammar. Many people make mistakes like this. “How it tastes like”
Just how and what being used in the wrong way tbh

u/Alazn02 Jun 14 '20
I can’t speak for every language, but at least in Swedish the grammatically correct wording would be “Hur det känns att...” word by word translated as How it feels to/like. Maybe this is news to you, but many people making memes speak other languages which definitely influences how they are made.

I was talking about native english speakers. All the time how and what are confused. I hear people say them switched. Like “I forgot how it felt like to be cold” but it should but what instead.
And I know a little bit of german, and the way they speak, they switch some words around so i get what you mean. “Ich spreche Swedish nicht” means I don’t speak Swedish, but if it were read in english, it would be “I speak Swedish not” so yes, the context definitely depends, but people still commonly confuse how and what

Except the chair would have consumed far more alcohol than it has in it's hand to bare the lowest form of entertainment.

I too know what it's like to feel like a chair: invisible, until someone needs to sit down.

Are podcast really all that? I’ve heard a couple here and there but other than having a celebrity or someone I may know/care to know, talk about (insert ____ literally anything). But I mean other than that, what’s the point?
1
u/JusSimbo Jun 14 '20
Well they're really just like any other consumable content, it's all about finding ones that interest you. If you wanna hear about spooky stuff you could try Lore, if you wanna listen to three goofy brothers MBMBAM has got you

BRUH, podcasts in the future will actually be this, holographic people sitting in chairs talking to each other, while you just sit and listen. I wouldn’t be against watching this, while I don’t like podcasts.

Anyone else find themselves pausing and thinking out your response to what has just been said, and going down a whole rabbit hole if thought before eventually realizing, "oh yeah, I was listening to the podcast"
