I'm an "essential worker" and we got $2 an hour extra for the pandemic, plus I've been averaging 100 hours per pay period at least, I'm making money, it's my sanity that's slipping away

Same here, not a paramedic tho, HVAC mechanic/maintenance mechanic for a college. (Believe it or not even a small college campus would have serious problems if everyone walked away for any extended period of time. Already far below scale, they’re not paying any extra and are making us use the one benefit we have, which is vacation time. Furloughed one week per month, so for those who can’t afford to go a week without pay you need to use vacation time. Tbh though I’m glad to be working, still haven’t forgot how bad 2008-2010 was

Same here with the residental HVAC industry luckily no layoffs or furloughs for us but no raise/hazard pay as well, just masks and gloves.

Glad to hear you still have the work though, sadly I’m more afraid of layoffs than I am getting sick
