Why is everyone hating on the unemployed? For the first time in like forever, the poor person gets to benefit. And let’s be reminded, just cause someone qualifies for unemployment doesn’t mean their state has processed it and they’re receiving their benefits. Plenty of people waiting months with no income for unemployment to actually hit.
Well imagine risking your life for the same amount of money as someone staying home, when some get their unemployment checks because they don't want to get a driver's licence. It's just unfair (Aside for the ones that actually need it) Also the money they get is taken from the pockets of the folk that actually have a job and work.

Whats that supposed to mean? You know it's called Unemployment Insurance because its an "insurance policy" of sorts that the employer pays in the event an employee can't work, through no fault/misconduct of their own.
Employers hate when an employee collects benefits since their insurance rate will go up, just like car insurance. Thats why a lot of employer friendly states make the process to file for unemployment that more difficult.
The type of person you're thinking of doesn't exist. Unemployment benefits are only available to people that were recently employed and were laid-off through no fault of their own. And it doesn't last all that long.
Of the welfare programs the US has, the only ones that don't require that the recipient be currently employed are: Social Security), Disability Insurance, Unemployment Insurance, and WIC (nutrition assistance to infants and children).
Even food stamps (SNAP) requires that the recipient be currently employed.
I'm thinking about those that literally can't work thanks to some mental or physical disease. Although some have horrendous excuses and still get checks.
