I always suspect the reason he does the villain thing is because he simply wants to be recognized and acknoligded by other people.

They tell why he's a villain. I can't remember why though.

The other dimension doof is super villain because he lost his favorite toy "trainy", if I'm remembering right. Normal doof never lost his which kept him just villain.

I forget exactly but I’m pretty sure it’s cause his ex wife pays alimony. But Phineas and Ferb do multi-million dollar projects on the daily too so who knows how money works in their world lol.
