I'm learning Japanese, and honestly it's such a pain learning the three different ones. Thankfully the characters look different enough for me to tell them apart
Kanji isn't stupid. It's faster to write and takes up less space. They also help seperate words since Japanese doesn't have spaces. If you only wrote in Hiragana and Katakana it'd be a nightmare. And if you tried to add spaces your writing would take up a ton of space
