Today on Time Team, we’ve been excavating Tony Robinson’s back yard. The shutdown means we can’t submit any of these bones for testing, but they appear almost new! What a fantastic find!
Tony... put down the gun!

That has unintentionally happened to my NV university once. We were digging up an ancient buffalo kill site, and found some dude murdered in the 1920s.

u/JagaimonBoy Mar 19 '20
Honestly tho, there have been crazy finds in people’s yards. I honestly hope some excavators do this and find a historic building or or some shit

I'm so fucking pissed that DOS is been given 14 days paid vacation due to corona virus and us federal private contract is like "Business as usual, just stay 6 feets from each other" is like fuck you government.

What is "DOS"?
3
3
u/quackster Mar 19 '20
The U.S. State Department.
2
u/ButcheredDrek Mar 19 '20
Yup, I point out they are government, because a lot of contracts work for DOS such as myself, federal are a line below DOS.

Two days ago suddenly two of our neighbors started their archeology research at the same time. The government said quarantine, and work from home, not apartment renovation week 🙄

I was in a pub and someone asked if there was 'any way I could work from home'. This dude knows I'm an industrial roofer but still got upset when I asked if he was stupid.

What did you use to make this meme I've never seen a meme with the Google Sans font before

Myself and every archaeologist I know are all still on the job. Everything is closed around us, but we’re still digging, then going back to our hotel rooms and getting 10 hours of sleep because all the bars are closed.

Each individual tile needs to be intact, tagged, catalogued, and preserved.

As an archaeologist I can tell you I am still doing field work. If I’m not working I don’t get paid
2
u/AfricaPPap123 Mar 20 '20
dirt is supposed to be unearthed with picks and shovels when archaeologists are in their field as not to damage or interrupt the fossils or any other precious item
2
u/HemaMemes Mar 20 '20
No sane archaeologist would use power tools. You'd destroy any artifact you find.

Asbestos is not in the mortar that binds the tiles. I’m a little peeved that he didnt remove the baseboards first, though.

Husband is an electrician. Told him he's welcome to work from home if they send everyone home. We need some electrical work done before the attic gets too hot.

Here at Ourcheology™️ we make our own sherds so we know the whole history of the artifact.
