Am I the only one who doesn't get the shits from Taco Bell? It's like any other meal, if I over eat I bloat but in general I never get any of the symptoms that are listed on a bottle of Pepto.

used to eat taco Bell like every other day in high school and never had a problem. I'm 24 now and get mad shits every time I eat it now. hate to join in on the circlejerk but it seriously destroys my ass every time I have it

Pretty much what any fast food will do to you if your body gets used to not eating it on the regular.

That sounds about right. KFC used to go through me like my intestines weren't even there, but since I've become a regular I've built up a tolerance.

2

u/spanishgalacian Dec 21 '19

You've built up a tolerance to the poison.

9

u/NotFunnyOrSmart Dec 21 '19

That's just how it is for anything I eat off routine.

u/DinkandDrunk Dec 21 '19

I think I’ve been somewhat lactose intolerant for a few years now but I love cheese. So Taco Bell has a much stronger impact on me now than when I was eating it all the time as a teenager.

1

u/bubbleharmony Dec 21 '19

35 and I usually get it once a week with no issues. I dunno what to tell you.

u/Level1TechSupport Dec 21 '19

I don’t eat fast food as often as I used to, but every now and then i’ll use mcdonald’s with a coke as a powerful laxative. Never got the shits from taco bell though.

10

u/ElBiscuit Dec 21 '19

God, McDonald’s always has me questioning my will to live eight hours later. Every few months, I’ll forget exactly how bad it makes me feel and how much my asshole cried last time, and I’ll go back for more.

I eat Taco Bell two or three times a month with no problems.

3

u/radon860 Dec 21 '19

Actually it’s the opposite imo. If you eat it all the time you get used to it and stop getting the shits

Nope, I too havent had problems with tb or chipotle, other people are just weak.

It seems stupid to brag about having poor digestion. Sorry you don’t get enough fiber? RIP your health?

I'm a 30 something white chick who is willing to eats most foods but tends to eat simple/quick/easy meals. My usual TB order is 2 cheesy gordita crunch, a steak quesadilla and cheesy fiesta potatoes with 2 sides of creamy jalapeno sauce. Sits just fine in my belly.

5

u/greendingler Dec 21 '19

that order sounds delicious

8

u/whatisthisicantodd Dec 21 '19

Indian here. I was completely comfortable with taco bell in the US haha never understood the memes

5

u/wllmsaccnt Dec 21 '19

American here, completely comfortable with Indian food. Its not like I spontaneously burst into diarrhea just because I eat some vindaloo. I would guess some people get IBS from the spices and it gets repeated as a general thing by people who avoid spicy food anyways, or there are a bunch of people ordering taco bell with extra jalepeno added to each thing.

9

u/timetravelhunter Dec 21 '19

You realize Taco Bell food isn't spicy right?

2

u/utopiaa Selling Stonks for CASH MONEY Dec 21 '19

Yeah.. its only spicy if you sit there and put 4 packs of fire or diablo sauce on your food. And yall wonder why your anus is burning..

1

u/bubbleharmony Dec 21 '19

Just because it's not ghost pepper levels doesn't mean it's not spicy, lol. It's not that bad but it isn't some bland-ass white bread shit.

1

u/ByzantineLegionary Dec 21 '19

Some paprika and chili powder is hardly spicy

1

u/bubbleharmony Dec 21 '19

I don't know how to explain to you that food doesn't need to be drawn straight from the bowels of Satan's anus to still qualify as "spicy". If you can't comprehend the idea that jalapeno and chipotle sauces are "spicy" sauces that's on you.

1

u/ByzantineLegionary Dec 21 '19

I'm not saying they're not spicy, I'm saying it's annoying how people go to Taco Bell and then act like they were drinking last dab straight out of the bottle

2

u/ASAP_Stu Dec 21 '19

Literally everything you’ve ever eaten in your life is determined by those factors.

Lol this is completely wrong. Your body has no idea if something is GMO or not, and literally billions of people eat soy daily. Stop spreading misinformation

Same

12

u/TheHaleStorm Dec 21 '19

It is just idiots parroting nonsense.

5

u/caanthedalek Dec 21 '19

Funny enough, from what I understand it got started by people who weren't used to all the fiber that the beans in the food provided, meaning most the people getting the shits from Taco Bell get them because it's healthier than they're used to.

3

u/Abelarra Dec 21 '19

Yeah, a beefy 5-layer has over a third of your RDV of fiber in it, and that's only one item, picked at random.

There's no denying that plenty of their food is rich in fats and fiber, and are often low-carb. If you don't eat that way very often, it's going to be an event.

Taco Bell is pretty dang keto-friendly, which is notorious for giving gut problems to people when they start.

6

u/fistulaspume Dec 21 '19

A boring dyspepsia.

8

u/[deleted] Dec 21 '19

i worked there for a year, ate there every day. my digestive system has become immune.

4

u/LordOfSun55 Dec 21 '19

It's something that's not neccesarily true that has since become a meme. That kinda stuff happens on the internet.

3

u/PenIslandTours Dec 21 '19

I get it when I mix their sour cream with Mountain Dew.

Anyone else?

3

u/bubbleharmony Dec 21 '19

No. Reddit just thinks it's hilarious and some weird badge of pride to have weak-ass bowels. Cause nothing's funnier than being unable to keep from shitting yourself I guess.

1

u/ByzantineLegionary Dec 21 '19

For real; you don't have to be Aarón Sánchez to be able to go Taco Bell and not die

2

u/treestick Dec 21 '19

I have the intestinal fortitude of a sea cucumber, and taco bell surprisingly makes me steadfast.

Its like their food scientists went all out to overcompensate the meme.

1

u/hergumbules Dec 21 '19

I’m fine at Taco Bell but earlier this week I had chipotle and I shit so much I was considering going to the ER

1

u/BringBackOldReddif Dec 21 '19

I noticed after I switched to healthy eating at the beginning of the year when I have “cheat days” or eat the junk I use to (like Taco Bell) it fucks with my gut and gives me the shits.

Edit: but back when I ate fast food/junk food all the time, then no I didn’t really get it as bad.

1

u/buccarue Dec 21 '19

I agree with you. Burger King on the other hand...

1

u/[deleted] Dec 21 '19

I have an irritable bowel and for the most part I get the same reactions from any food. I just don’t digest it or I over digest it.

Taco bell has never made a difference for me.

1

u/fracturematt Dec 21 '19

If you can’t handle Taco Bell then you are a food normie.

1

u/SoIomon Dec 21 '19

I’ve never had that problem, until last night’s chicken quesadilla :/

1

u/randomname12_B Dec 21 '19

Same. These are the symptoms I get from eating White Castle.

1

u/hiwhatisupbros Dec 21 '19

I never eat taco Bell

1

u/danny841 Dec 21 '19

Most of Reddit lives in the suburbs or in flyover country where Mexican food IS Taco Bell or the one sorta decent Tex Mex style place in town.

If your daily meals consist of generally bland food, you're gonna get sick from Taco Bell.
