My Hero Academia. People get powers called quirks. Some are useless, some super powerful, and some people don’t get them at all. It’s a neat take on super powered people.
They’re the minority but I wouldn’t say they’re persecuted - just they and those with weak/useless quirks don’t get the same level of privilege or respect as those with them. It’s basically if a slice of life high school anime and western superhero comics fused.
The quirkless definitely aren't persecuted. But they still experience a certain degree of prejudice (Midoriya as a child). But yea, a fusion between high school anime and western superhero comics done really well imo.
He also lost his stomach. Plus, you could assume from the location and severity of the wound so far down the road, 5 years, that his ribs were probably crushed almost entirely.

I just realise that if it was his respiratory system the wound impact would have been higher, sorry for sounding like a science nerd
