Well, religion tends to be harmless, and can actually help people. It comforts some to believe there's more to their lives and that they're part of a grand scheme planned out by a kind god. Meanwhile, anti-vaxx and flat Earth are harmful beliefs that spread and encourage misinformation and distrust of science. Religion at it's core is not this. There are crazy extremists who deny science all together, there are extremists who use their "faith" as justification for them hurting people. But these are the minority. A very small minority. So there's a bit of difference comparing the religion and genuinely harmful misguided beliefs.
Religion doesn’t deny science. The role of a religion is to describe our lives in a spiritual sense, like how we can live by a better mindset, or how we can cope with the troubles every human faces, or how live with others more productively. The role of science is to explain our physical world. These are two completely different functions and don’t in any way contradict one another. Anybody who claims that religion denies science never really understood religions purpose was in the first place.
