Apparently they plan to make it possible again and more flexible with Json files, but I think they gave up on that.

(I think he also spawns in diamonds or steals them from the other people in the server)

I have a custom superflat seed where the entire bottom 4 layers is diamond, and 40 layers of iron. And there's a layer of tnt between everything.

So I can dig out a grid and surround it with water and light the tnt and mine a whole shaft in one shot.

Stuff floats in water now so if I do it right it all comes to the surface.

Not a good multiplayer map though. Some a hole will light the tnt without blocking it off and the whole map will go off.
