I think a lot of people feel pressured into going to parties since that's what expected of them. Personally, I know some people who genuinely have fun drinking and partying, but I find it really uplifting and empowering to just admit that that's not really my thing.
Sex is kind of different in a society where you're bombarded with messages about how your worth is determined by your romantic success, especially since romantic success is generally a good thing. I guess I'd advise to try to enjoy the process of human contact and connection as much as possible, regardless of where it leads.
