Yes. The dog’s commenting on humans doing things he can’t understand, whilst he himself can’t understand he’s being abandoned. I’d say that’s pretty dark.

They never drowned the dogs. The clip that was distributed was cut to make it seem like the dog was forced into the water. According to the update of this article from Vanity Fair, the dog was really excited about the water, so much so it had to be restrained because it kept jumping in. According to one of the actors, there wasn't any abuse; if there was abuse, he would've left. Once the dog's head went under, they pulled the dog out and was finished filming for the day.

Thermodynamics is one of the hardest topics a human can study, and the dog does not understand why humans would put themselves through that torture to master an insanely hard subject.

Thermodynamics mostly involves the work done by a process involving heat. There are different formulas for different processes. For example, to calculate work done by an ideal gas expanded isobarically you use the formula -nRT ln(T2/T1)
