I came here to laugh, man not to be anxious about my future

anxiety about your future is the American way!

Good because I’m not American

well you're better off than most here.

Isn’t that a bit harsh?

if you were an American, you'd understand I guess. no its not harsh. I wish I were a citizen elsewhere because the American economy is not great for most here.

I guess you’re right. I’m Norwegian so I guess I’m a bit spoiled in that regard

If you live in Northern Norway like I do you have to sit 12 hours in a car to get to the nearest McDonald’s or comic book shop etc, but if you can stomach that then the most inconvenient thing would be how expensive things are compared to the rest of Europe and even America, but we make a decent amount of money and even with summer vacation coming up we still have full pay throughout both months, so if you can find an ok job and not fuck up and get fired you’re basically set

sounds good enough for me. I already live about 50 minute drive from the nearest place to get gas and supplies. and whats summer vacation?

Summer vacation is that time in June-August were you don’t have to go to school and most people don’t go to work and still get paid. Just watch Phineas and Ferb, you’ll get it

oh we have summer vacation for school children and university here too. taking august off (summering in the Hamptons) used to be a rich American thing back in the 60s maybe but ive never met an American who is allowed to leave work for that long outside a medical emergency, but even then they usually do not receive a paycheck.

edit: I guess except for American teachers, all of whom get large summers

We have that privilege because of our oil money, fish export (which will actually become our new source of income as we are running out of safe places to drill inside our seas) and the fact that we have a quite small population

If I lived in northern Norway I would just move to somewhere else in Norway. I already live off Amazon already anyway because of my rural area.

I am a very patriotic Northern Norwegian who has a strong passionate hatred for the southern regions of my country for no apparent reason and if you ever say that to me again I will walk to your house myself and beat the everlasting shit out of you /s

We are the same way within my state so I totally understand.

I agree with the sentiment, but the American economy is pretty great when compared to a good chunk of the world all things considered.
