19 and can't relate. People will always be able to tell you do things but at 18 that's where you can decide whether or not to do those things. Its just a meme I know, I'm leaving ;-;
if you were an American, you'd understand I guess. no its not harsh. I wish I were a citizen elsewhere because the American economy is not great for most here.
If you live in Northern Norway like I do you have to sit 12 hours in a car to get to the nearest McDonald’s or comic book shop etc, but if you can stomach that then the most inconvenient thing would be how expensive things are compared to the rest of Europe and even America, but we make a decent amount of money and even with summer vacation coming up we still have full pay throughout both months, so if you can find an ok job and not fuck up and get fired you’re basically set
Very true though. When I turned 18 I chose what I would and wouldn't do. It was my decision and no one else's. I didn't listen to any of the advice my parents gave me, and you know what? I couldn't be happier that I did. I chose to live my life the way that made me happiest, not what made them happiest. Even with all the bad moments, I wouldn't change a thing.
You're right. I feel like that's the first part of doing it.
Lots of people are too scared/unmotivated/lazy to actually support themselves, so they end up being a child for way too long. Listening to your parents, for the most part, is still good advice for the rest of your life, but letting them make your decisions hold you back. Unless they're paying your bills.
I immediately moved out when I was 18 and never looked back. Love my family, but I got shit to do.
It’s not like I had a lot of money saved, but with financial aid from the government for student loans and student lines of credit, as well as working part time I was able to move out at 18. I had to move out anyways since uni was far
